Howdy from the south side. It’s a beautiful day here in Florida. I went creeping yesterday. Creeping our downtown historic district that is. Of all the grandeur, this little downtown farmhouse was my favorite. This little darling was built in 1918 according to a friendly neighbor. The beautiful light yellow Eastlake stained glass door first caught my eye. Gables and a big front porch are my weakness in architecture. I’ve been getting so many questions about my Hydrangeas! As silly as it may sound, I have dreamed of having Hydrangeas like this nearly my entire life, so I’m in Hydrangea heaven!☺️ I’m no master gardener, but I’ll share with you what I’ve learned from experience over the years! When I say experience, I mean that I’ve killed lots of Hydrangeas! So here’s what I know ~ I have found two varieties that have been low maintenance and a cinch to grow, the Incrediballs and the Limelights! The ones pictured are the Incrediballs! They are similar to the Annabelle’s, but with stronger stems, so you won’t have any floppage! They also have bigger blooms than the Annabelle, I’ve had some blooms bigger than 12 inches! They tolerate both sun and shade, ours get full sun until mid afternoon. On the hottest days they look a little wilted, but it doesn’t take long for them to perk right back up! If you’re looking to try your hand at growing Hydrangeas, this is a variety that I would definitely recommend! #hydrangeas #incrediballs #farmhouse #michigansummer

Another beautiful morning in the mitten! We’ve been thoroughly enjoying this little area in the yard! No fancy fire pit, just a simple ring of fieldstones that I found on our property. And why I chose this spot in the yard, I’m not really sure. It just felt right to me! I’ll link these Adirondack chairs in my stories. I ordered them unfinished and painted them myself.
