During his Innsbruck study visit im March, @jiri.suchanek_ ,Czech sound and media artist (suggested by Prague Biennale), met with the members of the @openspace.innsbruck team and got connected with local support systems from neighborhood organizations such as Hackerspace Innsbruck (IT-Syndikat), Cunst&Co, Fablab, Verschubu Records and @heart_of_noise festival. Together with local artists he has visited potentially interesting locations for the sound art interventions, as well as the Haus der Musik (House of Music) where the @heart_of_noise festival will take place between 7. and 9. of June. During his Magic Carpets residency Jiří will develop an interactive sound installation that combines the aspects of rotation, time, gravity and friction. He will also hold the practical workshop with community members on the subject field recording of places and materials in order to create personal “sonic map” of the city. Another sound work (algorithmic composition) on the subject of "sonic gardens" will be heard in the trees in front of the @hausdermusik.innsbruck . A large amount of ideas are incubated. Meet multidisciplinary sound artist Mika Motskobili (suggested by partner organization CCA Tbilisi) from Georgia taking part at the @magiccarpets.eu residency in Innsbruck organized by @openspace.innsbruck that is dedicated to the theme “sounds of in between “.
