The motion of running feels as natural to me as it did when I was 11 years old Yet I need to really focus on every joint to make sure my rhythm and timing is perfect⁣ ⁣ From the moment the foot strikes the blade bends, allowing me bounce up and forward. This then gives me the momentum to throw my knee forward and bend it just enough to clear the surface of the floor. This knee is free swinging, meaning that if I am to “stub my toe” it would buckle and I’ll fall. The hip joint moves the least but feels the most important. As the blade strikes and the knee extends the hip allows me 5 degrees of external rotation. This gives me the ability to move my hip as naturally as possible yet staying locked into my socket around my pelvis. The internal carbon composite structure allows for a high amount of energy return, making walking more energy efficient! The split design makes it very adaptable to navigating uneven terrain and the split “sandal” toe allows the user to wear flip flops. Most impressive is that it is designed for use in water; salt water or chlorinated water is no problem!
