It was such a nice evening I went for a wee walk. One of the things I love about Edinburgh is how the castle can be seen from so many vantage points. This is a view I pass nearly every day but it’s the first time I’ve stopped to take a photo.

I don’t often post sunset pictures on here, but seeing as it’s Simmer Dim I thought why not. ~ Simmer Dim otherwise known as the longest day of the year, is such a special time in Shetland, with almost 19 hours of daylight as the sun barely dips below the horizon. ~ On days like this it’s difficult to go to sleep as you want to eek every single moment of the clear skies and daylight as possible, and on Sunday night that’s exactly what we did. ~ Sitting at St Ninians bay , fire lit , good company ☺️, Marlow running around content on the beach and watching the sun dip below the horizon was one of the highlights of my trip home. xx #madebythesea #leaskforlife

My daughter Flora and I went cycling and camping on the Isle of Lismore recently on behalf of @visitoban - Lismore is only about 50 minutes away by ferry from Oban but once you are there it feels incredibly remote and very peaceful. We visited Castle Coeffin at sunset and found lots of interesting places for photos! The next day we went for a walk in the sunshine and visited the Gaelic Heritage Centre for lunch. We were away for less than 24 hours but we packed loads in! Dore Holm. A stunning island off the north west coast of Shetland near Eshaness. ~ This was a popular place for our ‘Sunday Run’ when we were kids and I always try and head here whenever I’m home. Apparently it looks like a drinking horse , but as kids we always thought it looked more like an elephant . Either way it’s a stunning walk around Stenness to see this amazing rock formation! ~ As much as I love this picture, with the rocky beach covered in thrift, I much prefer Dore Holm in the more typical stormy Shetland weather. The waves look phenomenal crashing against it. ~ You may also recognise this rock from a very popular advert by @threeuk featuring our very own dancing Shetland Pony named Socks. ~ If you haven’t seen it, then click the link in my bio!
