This is one of those Instagram lies: a smiley face which masks a million self doubts. 5 miles this morning felt like 25. My legs didn’t want to run. They just didn’t want to do it. And with the reality of just 8 days to the London Marathon, and another 6 weeks until the Comrades Ultra, it’s a place I really don’t want to be right now. I’ve trained hard: I’ve followed a plan and I’ve stuck to it. I’ve taken rest when scheduled; I’ve eaten properly and I’ve tried my very best to put myself in with a fighting chance of completing both of these epic races. Weekend update! . First off I want to do a great big huge THANK YOU to everyone who wished me luck and were cheering for me over this weekend. You guys means a lot to me and I’m so thankful for everyone’s support! And most certainly those who have watched me go through so many struggles along this prep and looked to help me in anyway they could! I also want to do a big shoutout to my coach @seeyoulaterleaner who has been absolutely amazing to work with and helping me every step of the way to work towards stage time. Shout out to @protan_official for being so awesome and helpful with my terrible looking sunburn and doing what they could to try and help me and have such an amazing attitude about it when honestly, I thought I was going to get yelled at , but those ladies were absolutely the sweetest and so supportive of me! And thank you to my awesome team @rocksolidnutrition for cheering me on and for having some great athletes that stepped on stage with me as well! And thank you to @angelcompetitionbikinis for my amazinggggggggggg suit!!! I’ve been waiting since February to wear my suit and got so many compliments on it!!! . I met so many wonderful competitors and amazing people and loved getting to watch pros who I look up to and getting to talk and chat with them all! . So! With that being said! I placed 2nd in novice division and 4th in open division. I am happy with my placing but of course know it was not my best and that I could do so much better! A lot of struggles came into play right before show and they definitely got the best of me. I hold a high goal for myself and I will continue pushing towards it. So of course, once show was over coach and I began planning for the next show!
