Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu . . . If opening alone is enough to judge a fragrance, pls let's deem Valentino Uomo Noir Absolute the best and live happily ever after. But it missed the top mark by such a tiny but significant mark. This is truly a beautiful fragrance that I almost prefer over the intense; it started with one of the most gorgeous sandalwood, incense, and black pepper opening, just the way I like it; big, bold, dark, and mysterious. The love affair continues outstandingly for a very long time until about 5 to 6 hrs when the whole thing fell apart for me. Not bad but not worthy of that amazing opening. It's like a new beautiful Ferrari you've been driving, enjoying and showing off dies on the highway. I was disappointed in the drydown but the opening is beautiful enough and lasted long enough to ignore the glitch of the dry down. Obviously I still love it enough to make it my sotd.
