His amazing sister was sitting on him for a while & as petite as I am I could not provide them both with sufficient room so KY was always by the exit & deep in my pelvic area, which was painful! ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ Some Drs do not believe in helmet therapy & in some cases flat heads do correct themselves as baby’s learn to sit upright & spend less time on their backs. The back to sleep campaign although improved lowering the statistics on #SIDS, increased Plagiocephaly & now 50% of all babies have this issue.⁣ .⁣ .⁣ ! 3 types of deformities exist, Brachycephaly (wider head like hey Arnold), Plagiocephaly (long flat head with one side protruding more) & scaphocephaly (long thinner dory looking head)⁣ .⁣ .⁣ Our lil man will get a helmet in 2 wks time & we are going to rock this flat head thing & make it look awesome! Definitely will get it customized & going to be consistent with wearing it 23hrs a day! GO KY GO!!! Happy Monday y’all!! I started my Monday at the doctor with Ellie and both boys (because well, it’s summer) for her cranial band and got there and realized I left her band at home! I was ironically wearing a shirt that said “Not Today Satan” and moved on with my morning and went all the way back home to get her band and came back to the doctor. After my appointment, I ran into the sweetest mom in the parking lot whose baby also has a cranial band and we got to chat for a bit. When I got back into my car I couldn’t help but think to myself how good God is. I knew in that moment that is why I forgot her helmet this morning and it was a God orchestrated appointment. Mooncake was diagnosed with plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) and was referred for a custom-made helmet. She will have to wear it for 23 hours a day?! * * We were also told to do more tummy time with her (which she hates) but luckily @babocush makes it easier to make this possible. #ad #babocush * * ‍♀️ Does anyone else have any experience with asymmetrical heads? We would appreciate any advice. Not sure what we should do at this point. ‍♀️
