“SON OF A BEACH” People sometimes ask me why I’m still single, but most of the time that same question is followed by the dreaded “don’t be offended ok? But I was just thinking, maybe you’re still single because you’re fat.” I gotta admit, there are times wherein that thought actually gets to me, it makes me feel all those self-loathing emotions that were so strong back then, but as I am now growing older I just laugh at that thought now & ignore it. Why? Because I’ve seen women who are fat or big as me & they have such beautiful marriages or relationships with their husbands or boyfriends, they didn’t have to shrink down to get the guy, the guy pursued them regardless if they were bigger than others & forgive me for being hopeful but I do believe that there are still other guys like that out there. Furthermore, if my weight or body is the only reason why a guy won’t like me then maybe he’s not worth my love after all; I have so much more to offer than a chubby fluffy cushiony belly & thighs that you can rest on. When I love, I love hard, when I care for people they’d be able to feel it even without me saying it, I’d dedicate time, effort & feelings for those that are dear to me. If he isn’t able to see that because he’s too focused on how I look then I guess he’s just not the one & quite superficial if you ask me. Because guess what? Whether I’m 200 lbs or 100 lbs, I’m still gonna be that chick, I’ll still have the same personality & values & if the only thing getting in the way is my weight then I’m sorry sweetie I’m not gonna change my appearance for you, if I do change it’s gonna be for me & not to attract you. So to y’all who are facing the same struggle as well, don’t worry. They don’t deserve you & your beautiful soul. You deserve better, you deserve more.
