Hundreds of times I’ve been asked, “where do u get your confidence from?” My usual response is either “just be yourself” or “I got it from my momma” until I actually put some thought into it. I do have my not-so-confident moments—“ang lapad ko”, “shet, laki ng braso”, “walang pwet”. But it does NOT boil down to only confidence. I’d say it’s FREEDOM. I free myself from what people MIGHT think, I free myself from my OWN NEGATIVITY. It’s accepting that I’m free to do what I want to. I’m free to show what I want to show, free to share what I want to share. It’s a blessing that I choose to hold on to. So, ayan. The photos that you see is not only a confident plus-sized woman, but also the product of FREEDOM. Freedom to love what you see on and off camera. (PS i always feel “free-er and more confident in the States than in the PH. I dunno why.
