Many of us make the decision to step into a relationship when we’re not in the right place with God and we suffer the consequences for it. Not only do we start thinking that our significant other is going to fix our brokenness, but they get elevated into a place that they were never meant to be in. It’s in this process where problems start materializing, as our deepest insecurities start to come to the surface. In order to have successful relationships, we need to become whole in God first, with the understanding that he’s ultimately the only one whose ever going to be able to fix us. @iammiketodd @wearetransformation _____ To watch the rest of this message, “Daddy Issues”, click the link in our bio.

What’s the real reason behind your desire to pursue God? For your church attendance on a Sunday? Is it done out of obligation and because it seems like the right thing to do? ⁣ ⁣ Or do you deeply desire to know God on a personal level and be transformed from the inside out? The answers to these questions determine how we live our entire lives, because religion and routine ultimately do nothing for us. ⁣ ⁣ The reality is that many of us live such fast-paced, automatic lives that it’s important to be intentional and check our hearts in the midst of each season. When we’re aware of our deepest desires and motivations, we can catch when we’re falling into routine and reorient ourselves to maximize everything God wants to do through us. @dawnchere⁣⁣ _____⁣⁣ To watch the rest of this message, “Most Wanted”, click the link in our bio.

Before we were ever born, God set us apart (Gal. 1:15), called us worthy and gave us the highest value (Gen. 1:27). But in the process of conforming to the culture around us, we have at times, unknowingly diminished our value by giving our bodies away freely.⁣ ⁣ Because the church has been silent on sex in past, we’ve allowed culture to define what sex is and we forget sex was created by God as a powerful instrument to be experienced through the intimacy and commitment of marriage. ⁣ ⁣ When we go against the way in which God designed sex, the way we view ourselves becomes heavily distorted. Sex becomes elevated as a status symbol and a key component that defines our self-worth. As we freely play around with a gift that God calls sacred, we become just bodies to use, rather than actual people who are worthy of commitment.⁣ ⁣ This inevitably has long-term spiritual and emotional effects, that can only be repaired if we invite God into our sex lives. @iammiketodd @wearetransformation ____⁣ To watch the rest of this message, “Does Sex Own You?”, click the link in our bio.

When we step out and forgive someone, it doesn’t mean that we’re excusing their behavior. What they’ve done might actually be horrific and devastating. No, it simply means we are relinquishing control to God as the ultimate judge and we’re committed to letting go. Many of us don’t realize that the act of forgiveness brings us FREEDOM, while the decision to remain in unforgiveness keeps us enslaved to toxic emotions like bitterness and resentment. @judahsmith⁣ ⁣ Take the first step to freedom today and acknowledge someone you need to forgive in a comment below.⁣ ____⁣ To watch the rest of this message, “The Act of Wholeness”, click the link in our bio.

We all feel angry from time to time, but there's a difference between righteous anger and unwarranted outbursts. When we’re easily angered, more often than not the cause is much deeper than that which has set us off. Things like chronic stress, lack of sleep or just feeling emotionally drained can all cause us to have a short fuse, but the longer we give into acting on our feelings, the more it becomes a habit. ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ The sooner we examine the root cause of our short-temperedness and ask God to give us the strength and grace to overcome it, the sooner we experience peace and allow the Spirit to produce the fruit of self-control in us. @jasontlaird @sozochurchsf ⁣ _____⁣⁣ To watch the rest of this message, “Fight Fair”, click the link in our bio.

Our ability to discern what comes from God and what doesn’t will impact our entire outlook on life. If we believe that He’s causing us to feel shame and condemnation, then we’ll always have a distorted vision of who God is and this will limit our faith. Shame causes us to hide from God (Gen. 3:8), but conviction encourages us and strengthens our relationship with Him. ⁣ ⁣ We have a good Father, who knows very well that we’re going to battle with sin (Rom. 5:8), but tells us that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1). He give us grace through the struggle, but then reminds us through the Holy Spirit that there’s always a better way (John 14:26). @judahsmith⁣ ____⁣ To watch the rest of this message, “Created for Connection”, click the link in our bio.

Often times, when we step into church, we do so with the expectation that we have to clean ourselves up to be in the presence of God. We get confused because we see someone else having an experience with the Holy Spirit and we think we’re doing something wrong because of who we are. ⁣ ⁣ But throughout scripture, we see that the Holy Spirit fills ordinary people, who would seem unqualified according to worldly standards. In God’s kingdom, everyone is worthy and there aren’t any pre-qualifications for entering His presence, aside from putting your faith in Jesus.⁣ ⁣ So if you’re struggling to feel the presence of God today, you’re free of the expectations that may weigh you down. Just be open with your mind and heart and ask God to work through you and see what happens from there. @brookeligertwood⁣ ____⁣ To watch the rest of this interview, click the link in our bio.

Worship can be a strange thing when we’re first exposed to it. But the fact is, we worship in many other areas of our life, even if we don’t label it like that. We experience an emotional high from things like sporting events, concerts, TV shows and music.⁣ ⁣ So how much more does Jesus naturally deserve our biggest praise, given his ability to transform our life and satisfy our deepest longings? ⁣ ⁣ Worship becomes our battle cry. It’s our weapon in dark times. It’s where we express our gratitude and praise. It’s in this exchange that we enter into the holy presence of an almighty God and we’re forever changed. @carllentz⁣ ____⁣ To watch the rest of this interview, “A Problem Called Praise”, click the link in our bio.

If we’re not careful, we can easily step out and do something for God, but then secretly be trying to glorify ourselves and get the praise.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This message isn’t just limited to pastors and worship leaders, but it applies to all of us. In Matthew 23:12, Jesus says that whoever exalts themselves will be humbled, but those who are humble will be exalted. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ True fulfillment comes when we serve other people and give the glory to God, but our sinful nature is to want to make it about ourselves and live for the praise of man. @brookeligertwood⁣⁣ _____⁣⁣ To watch the rest of this interview, click the link in our bio.
