Welcoming Nancy Power to Printfest for the first time. . 'I am a self-taught printmaker living in the East Midlands. The main focus of my practice is creating reduction linocut prints. I am excited by the ‘absolute’ decision making that this process requires. Many of my images are printed from dark to light, and I am intrigued as to how the colours perform quite differently and give some unexpected and surprising results. I quite like the fact that I am not always sure how an image will come out. My work features the countryside local to me, as well as coastal views, plants and animals. Some of my cards packed up ready for delivery to @theceilidhplace in Ullapool and Dandelion Designs in Waternish on Skye ... I've been using biodegradable bags on them for over ten years now, currently supplied by the excellent @ecocraft_ltd who also have paper tape and all sorts of other great eco-friendly alternatives for packing and wrapping. . . Almost goes without saying that the cards and envelopes are all recycled paper and card stock. And I'm currently looking at new options for who to print my cards. Eagerly awaiting some proofs from an eco company who recycle all their business waste, ink cartridges etc as well as using only recycled and sustainably sourced paper.
