This is my soul on fire Come join me at @purestudiosd Mon/Wed/Sat! I started teaching spin 4 years ago (been teaching fitness almost 7!). And here’s what I want to tell you: I had to FIGHT for that opportunity. Spin is highly competitive, even for fitness, and when I moved to San Diego all those years ago, there was really only one studio at that time (a different one) that did the choreo-based spin I had fallen in love with in LA. There were no openings for instructors, and no training program. But who lets that stop them, right? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wanted to teach, so I TRAINED MYSELF. To this day I’ve actually never gone through an “official” spin studio training. I took as many classes as I could, then spent hours upon hours, day after day, practicing on my own. Just me, in a dark room, talking to literally no one. I studied what other instructors did and incorporated that into my teaching, as well as my previous barre teaching experience. And when I asked the studio owner to watch me—she said I wasn’t ready. So I spent even MORE months practicing, doing a billion mock classes, sucking over and over again, until I got good and was added to the schedule. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We hear all the time that “you can do anything!” and “your dreams are possible!” but we rarely follow that up with “...but you’ll fall on your face, over and over again, and you’ll have every reason to give up.” The trick is simply to KEEP GOING. Failure after failure, you get stronger. If you want it bad enough, and are willing to get a little bloody and bruised on the way, you really can achieve your goals. Don’t give up.

Workouts are ALWAYS better with friends. Had such a great afternoon sweating and flowing with these ladies Thank you @purestudiosd and @theactivebrunette_ for pumping some energy into me today and kicking us off to summer ☀️
