I’ve been trying to read more LGBTQ+ fiction recently, and @travelsinfiction gave me They Both Die at the End and Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, both of which I enjoyed! BUT YA is not my fave, and I would love to find some LGBTQ+ adult books to read, because from trying to look it up, the options seem few and far between! So please please please give me ALL your LGBTQ+ adult fiction recommendations, and I’m so excited to find some great books! ️‍️‍️‍

History, Huh! I tried to write this review for hours now & I simply just can't put my love for this book into words. So I'm going to do what Alex would probably do & give you a list with all the reasons, why you all should read this book: 1. It's incredibly funny. I giggled, I cackled & I laughed out loud mutiple times. 2. It's super diverse in a way that to me, just felt natural. 3. It has an amazing cast of characters. Even the secondary characters are so well thought out and interesting. I want at least 4 of them, to get their own novels. 5. It's highly political. I have never read a romance novel with a political setting, that tackled political issues & talk about politics in such an informative, yet still entertaining way. Without dumbing it down. 6. It's unapologetically queer. This book shows people from all sides of the LGBTQIA+ community & I am here for it. 7. The love story is actually amazing. I'm not a fan of love stories, most of them are either problematic or cringy. Alex' & Henry's love storie tho... there has been only one queer love story in a book so far, that made feel all the feels & that's Ari & Dante. So for Casey McQuiston to come out of nowhere & snatch the wig from my chilly little heart is huge effing deal! 8. This book is sexy! I hate sex scenes even more than I dislike love stories. And thank god most sex scenes in this book are fade to black. But there is one sentence in this book, that probably no one else will think is hot, but to me it's the hottest shit I've seen in a long time. 9. The writing is fantastic. Sometimes with debut novels you can tell that this is the first book a person has written, which is legit & fine etc. But sometimes you read a debut novel & the writing is SO good, as if the author has published multiple books already. 10. This book is important! We need queer fluffy feel good rom-com novels by queer authors. Point blank period. There is one thing that's a bit iffy to me tho. I wonder why Casey McQuiston didn't write this story about the first daughter & princess of wales?

Still Pride Month, still showing all the queer books. This fairly new release is bloody adorable. Aidan was assigned female at birth and comes out as a trans boy to his parents at a young age, who love him and honour his identity. Eventually the parents tell him he’s going to be a big brother and he wants to ensure that this new baby never feels the same distress that he did as a little one. It’s beautiful and sweet and as far as I’m aware the first book about the sibling experience featuring a trans child. Remember that the T in LGBT stands for trans and that even us cis queers can be transphobic jerks. Remember that trans children have one of the highest suicide rates of any group, and that one of the easiest ways to cut that rate exponentially is to honour, respect and love your child for exactly for who they are. Teach your children that gender isn’t binary, that trans folks exist and are just as worthy as respect and care as anyone else, and remember to amplify trans stories and experiences in your spaces.

“But I'm tired of coming out. All I ever do is come out. I try not to change, but I keep changing, in all these tiny ways.” - Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, by Becky Albertalli. ▾▾▾ Ladies, gentlemen, and friends of all genders, have yourself a very Happy #PrideMonth! ️‍ . Two years ago I posted a #bookishrainbow made up of books featuring one or more LGBTQ+ characters in honor of Pride Month. Today, I wanted to do the same, although I’m not so happy to admit that this bookish rainbow doesn’t look that much different than it did back then. Still, the intention remains: I want to share with you stories featuring characters in different stages - some are starting to find out who they are and learning to accept themselves, some are already in a place they’re comfortable with. Some find support in their family, some find support in their friends. Some are out, some are outed. I want to share a (hopefully) cheerful and uplifting message for those who may need a cheerful and uplifting message. If you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, I hope these and many other stories make you feel seen, that you can see yourself in them. If you’re (trying your best to be) an ally, use these and many other stories to learn, to understand, and to empower. Please help me grow my rainbow by sharing some titles you think should get more attention. I feel like we often gravitate towards the same books when there are so many great ones around and I want to get to read and share them, too.

“Andrew had nearly killed four men for assaulting Nicky and would have broken Allison's neck for hitting Aaron, but when it came to crimes against his own person Andrew couldn't care less. He held his life in less regard than he did anything else. Neil hated that with a ferocity that was nauseating.” - alas I’ve finally taken andrew minyard pics and I made myself sad in the process I know I say I’m gonna reread aftg like every other post but,,,, I’m gonna reread aftg - so I’ve become viciously against the foxhole court EVER becoming a show because while I love the series a lot it is very,,, dramatic and unrealistic and uhh in the form of a tv show it’d be very,,,, riverdale esque lmaosjdb some things are just meant to be told in book format thanks - qotp: what book would you want to be turned into a show/movie?

Bless @01firstsecond !!! I can’t believe they continue to do us so right by publishing amazing queer-as-heck-and-hella-romantic graphic novels... what have we done to deserve this? I think you all know how much I love CHECK, PLEASE! and BLOOM was already one of my favourite reads of this year... but then LAURA DEAN KEEPS BREAKING UP WITH ME came along. It’s complex and a bit raw, and all the different relationships it explores seem real and relatable. I love it as a snapshot of a lesbian relationship, and that feeling of doubting yourself and telling yourself lies to get by is really honest. I’m so glad I picked this one up. . Do you have a favourite queer graphic novel? Any recommendations?
