Who's got some leftover chicken that needs to be used up? One of my favourite ways of using up leftovers are in salads! Farm raised or wild #salmon?! ‍♀️ False. Both. Unless it’s breaded and fried in canola oil... it’s all healthy! . I got a beautiful 1.2lb piece of farm raised salmon from @lidlus yesterday and made it today for breakfast and lunch... because who doesn’t eat a pound of salmon a day?! @therock maybe?! AND ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️. . I consulted @gigieats the salmon queen’s new book She Does Keto for the perfect way to prepare salmon in the airfryer. See my stories to follow along. . 3 servings of fish for the week ✅. . 3oz of salmon is 156Cal, 9.22g fat, 16.92 protein. And obviously zero carbs. . So 10ish ounces was 519 Cal, 30.70g fat, 56.34g protein. . Is #fueledbysalmon a thing? We should make it a thing. ‍♀️ today is definitely #lifting day . . It’s perfect on it’s own, but to make a more complete meal, add some sliced avocado and grilled chicken ⁣ ⁣ Save this recipe to make later ⁣ . . .⁣ (Serves 5)⁣ INGREDIENTS⁣ 1/2 Red Onion⁣ 3/4 Cup Cucumber⁣ 1/2 Cup Parsley⁣ 15 Oz Chickpeas (Canned)⁣ 15 Oz Kidney Beans (Canned)⁣ 15 Oz Cannellini Beans (Canned)⁣ 2 Tbsp Olive Oil⁣ 1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar⁣ 1/2 Tsp Dried Oregano⁣ 1/2 Tsp Salt⁣ 1/4 Tsp Pepper⁣ ⁣ ‍PREPARATION‍⁣ 1. Thinly slice the onion, and chop the cucumber into small cubes.⁣ 2. In a large mixing bowl, add the onion, cucumber, parsley, chickpeas, kidney beans, and cannellini beans.⁣ 3. HEALTHY vs HEALTHY (read this caption!) - Let me just say that I am a BIG FAN of eating HEALTHY FOOD (of course). However, trying to reach any fitness goal (fat loss/muscle gain) by simple “eating healthy” can be a frustrating journey.. - Explain? 10 years ago I didn’t know a single thing about calories or macronutrients. Zero. So when I tried to go on a diet, and tried to lose some weight, I would just start “eating healthy”. So I would cut out (what I thought was) unhealthy foods like bread, candy, chocolate etc. And only eat foods labeled as “healthy” () - Guess what? It didn’t work. I didn’t lose any weight. So it was basically what I call a lose-lose situation (opposite of win-win). Because I didn’t get to eat the foods I enjoyed () and it didn’t even make me lose weight - Fast forward a few years and I started learning about calories and macros. And the fact that I could fit some chocolate or some ice-cream into my otherwise healthy diet and still lose weight. because total caloric intake IS the number 1 thing that controls weight-management (Not if the food is “healthy” or “unhealthy”) - So to wrap up this reaaaally long caption (sorry) I want to say that HEALTH matters a lot. But when it comes to losing weight, there has to be an understanding of calories. Because as you can see in the picture there can be a big difference of calories in two foods even though they’re both “healthy” !! - If you read till here then I freakin love you!
