QOTD: Recommend a favorite ugly cry book!

Five Stages if falling in love was my first Rachel Higginson book and it made me fall in love with this author and her stories. This book centers around a women he lost the love of her life and is failing at living and rising her kids in the aftermath. What she never expect to find was another amazing love and her journey of self-discovery, healing and ultimately open herself to another all consuming love is both inspiring and heartbreaking. Highly recommend this book and just make sure you have a book of tissues on standby

This week was one I’ve been nervous about for QUITE a while - it saw one of my biggest books of the year go on sale, & I spent much of it running around NYC with the author. I’m SO dang proud because this week went really well!!! and now I am ready to take it easy and enjoy some much-needed time recharging. Annnd if you know anything about me, you can probably guess that part of my definition of “recharging” involves reading the creepiest book I can find aka my current read, THEME MUSIC by T. Marie Vandelly, on sale 7/23 from @DuttonBooks!! ♀️

I’ve only just started reading this book, but I am already getting the feeling it’s going to be one I LOVE. Within the book’s opening pages, the author completely hooks readers with her protagonist’s strong and vivid voice, AND with a shockingly frank portrayal of a brutal act of violence. If its opening pages are any indication, this book DOES NOT MESS AROUND... and I am totally here for it!! I’m ready to be swept up in a creepy, horror-inspired suspense novel this weekend, and so far, THEME MUSIC seems like an excellent fit.

What are you reading this weekend?!
Are you pro or no about fruit on pizza? I think should be banned in general and most definitely on pizza. However, I have had an amazing pear, gorgonzola and walnut pizza before so I’m walking that line. ☺️ (thanks to @gallerybooks for this free book! ) **oh! And have you seen the ‘right’ way to take a pineapple apart?! If not google it, it’s so cool!

Who is a fan of @ruthwarewriter? ♀️ So far I’ve read every book she’s put out and while I’ve loved some more than others, I always look forward to what her mind is going to bring us and am so happy to have this copy!! *squeal*

After a long week and full weekend of working, I’m ready to get a little reading in before an early day tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for a brand new week! .

Happy Sunday, friends! ✨
I wanted to talk about my top 5 reads so far in 2019. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is my 5th pick but I listened to it on audio and don’t have a physical copy. So that makes 2 TJR picks out of my top 5! I definitely want to read more of her work. This was also the year I fell in love with Christina Lauren. Eleanor Oliphant was a character I truly felt connected to, and still compare other characters to her. SSDGM was a wonderful memoir by the ladies of MFM and I recommend it even if you don’t listen to the podcast.
What is your favorite read so far this year?

hiiii friends! Coming to you today with a lil ✨giveaway✨ in partnership with my very favorite coffee shop in the WHOLE world, @everybodyscoffee . ☕️ Those of you who have been here for awhile definitely recognize this place, since I jokingly call it my home office, and I *rarely* go more than two days without visiting for a friend date or some solo reading time. They are a generous and welcoming pillar of my neighborhood community and they’ve given me a place to meet my online people out in the real world! I am in love with this place and I’m so, so happy to be able to share them with all of you. •

Onto the fun! To win this glass tumbler, a pound of coffee, and one of my highly recommended summer reads (THE UNHONEYMOONERS), make sure you’re following me & @everybodyscoffee and then tell me about a place that makes your life brighter! For extra entries, tag your coffee date bestie down below. ♥️ •

[gifted ] Is this the nicest work view or what? It is my greatest joy to have whipped cream in my coffee and a little stack of books to think about. ☕️☺️ Per your requests, we are talking about THE FARM by Joanne Ramos today!

In many ways, this book reminds me of THE POWER // Naomi Alderman (a dystopian book about female bodies and agency that came out last year.) A very strong and ethically challenging concept, but ultimately under-delivers on the story front. Two of the main characters just couldn’t back up their purpose in the story to me and it wasn’t dystopian or outrageous *enough* for me to fully buy in. I’d say read it if you're interested enough in the themes OR if you have a book club, because it really does bring up endless discussion and debate. As always, head over ✨to the blog✨ for my full review!

Any thoughts on this book? Or on dystopian themes in general I’d love to hear them!
