“Every project is really about answering a question,” said the Paris-based designer @indiamahdavi. “And the hardest part is to define that question.” A trained architect, India designs exuberant interiors, furniture and products. She calls herself polychrome, because color is her signature, and polyglot, because she blends styles, periods and cultural influences in her work. Over the years, she said, she’s fine-tuned her design process. Today, she comes up with narratives before she begins drawing. Checking in! Just opposite of St Pancras station, US hotel brand @thestandard opened their first outpost this side of the Atlantic. Interior architects @archerhumphryes and designer @shawnhausmandesign revived a brutalist 70s council building and turned it into a vibrant hot-spot with 266 rooms and two street-facing restaurants. All spaces are distinct in style but share references to the decade when the complex was built. Electric colours, soft leather upholstery, plenty of coloured metal tubes, warm woods, a tendency to round shapes and extravagant tile patterns (the one behind the check-in counter is by local artist @lubnachowdhary) channel Camden's character, echoing its wild decades as well as the area's transformation into one of London's modern creative centres. And to top things off, a rooftop restaurant and terrace will open this September.

Californian cool goes on a rendezvous with Parisian elegance: Los Angeles-based @bellsandwhistlesdesign designed the charming interior of @lejeuneetjolie, a restaurant in the seaside town Carlsbad. The studio's principals Barbara Rourke and Jason St. John started with the idea of the perfect place for a date night, composing a space defined by curved lines, ie the ending of the seating benches or the lines of the mosaic flooring, and a palette of pastel hues including blush velvets, sage joinery and peach wall patterns in the bathroom. by @lilyglass

Zaporizhia, Ukraine . •⠀ The head designers of the studio @yudindesign, Aleksandr and Vladimir Yudin, have recently completed the interior design of @bergamotzp, a family restaurant located in Zaporizhia city (Ukraine). The owners of the restaurant relied on Brothers Yudin to create an interior that would match their kind of cuisine made of urban food (burgers, wings), sushi, Italian cuisine and kids menu. Burger-Boheme: For the latest @pnyburger branch of bun-and-patty enthusiast @rudyguenaire, Belgian architect @bernard_dubois came up with this très chic concept inspired by post-modernism and 80s design. Restricted by the narrow corridor of the building, Bernard instilled a dramatic perspective by installing wooden room dividers which separate the tables and create round openings channeling the facade of Hans Hollein's Retti Candle shop, built in the 60s in Vienna. By adding large wall mirrors behind the seating benches, the whole room is continued in eternity and feels more spacious. Picking up on the shape of the openings are also the three-legged dining chairs which are a bespoke design developed by Bernard for the restaurant. So tasty! by @romainlaprade via @dessellepartners
