So today, I finally had my first botox and filler. I mean, everyone has their own insecurities and mine has always been the width of my face. I clearly remember someone saying to me “you look ugly on the side, you look better in front only” and I literally hated my profile since then. I remember who said this to me too. SWIPE ⚡️ FOR MORE! Cannula vs. Needle That is the question. I like both and use both for different reasons. Pain level is very similar, even though cannula may look more uncomfortable. The fillers have a numbing component in them, so as the product is injected, the area gets COMPLETELY numb. CANNULA: 1. Typically 1 entry point is used to distribute filler. 2. Less downtime (less risk of bruising & less swelling) 3. Safer (less risk of vascular occlusion or blindness) 4. Discomfort is more like pressure and tugging, followed by complete numbing NEEDLE: 1. Multiple entry points needed to distribute filler. 2. More precise placement of filler for accuracy. 3. Typically more downtime (increased risk of bruising and swelling) 4. Discomfort is like pinching, followed by complete numbing. I used cannula for this patient. We used Restylane Lyft to add volume to her cheeks and chin. As we age these areas flatten and hollow. She can expect little or no bruising at all!

My patient today did 2 syringes of filler. To put that into perspective...5 syringes is a teaspoon, 10 syringes is a packet of ketchup! We focused on tear troughs and cheeks.
