A beautiful tiara made of sapphires and diamonds that disappeared after the end of the Russian monarchy: A beautiful tiara formed by sapphires and adorned with diamonds, which belonged to Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna, probably one of the most beautiful ones which ever has belonged to Romanov family. The State Hermitage Museum still holds a sketch of this tiara of diamonds made by Friedrich Köchli with 16 sapphire cabochons in a cornflower motif and images of the same tiara were included in the 1922 album "Russia's treasure of diamonds and precious stones". This tiara is depicted on the portrait of Alexandra Feodorovna by Joseph Coppey in 1900, but instead of sapphires between diamond curls there are rubies (the portrait that refers to the text is the one in the lower left corner of the post). Russian Imperial Stout @otherside_eastcoast - @foragersdrop ☃️ I'm rugged up to the hills because it is freezing outside, but Lord knows I'm now nice and toasty from this Russian Imperial bad boy. Tastes like you're sitting next to a fireplace, and delivers all those big, roasty flavours that comes with it. At 9.2% I expected to taste a little more alcohol, however the bitterness overpowers the bourbon cask flavour in which it was aged. Overall a nice beer, but made so much better by being poured from a hand pump!
