This past weekend I had the opportunity to do some creative exploration. I was intrigued by a fellow smithy’s instructional stories on how she fuses metal scrap to use in her work. I pulled out pieces from my scrap bucket; some chain, wires and bits of sheet and just went for it! This is the result of my first experiment with this technique. I tried really hard not to use any solder on the shank at all. (Well of course I needed to solder the backplate to the shank.) However, when I was forming the ring, a tiny part of the metal snapped so I ended up using a little solder in that area. I decided to add a green amber setting to pull it all together. Заказала у поставщиков новую партию камушков, но когда придут - увы, непонятно. . Никогда не знаешь, как себя поведёт продавец (например, обещают отправить в течение 1-3 рабочих дней, а по факту отправляют через полторы недели), и абсолютно непредсказуемо поведение курьерских служб/почты/таможни. . В итоге сидишь, как ждун, грустно сложив лапки на животе, и по десять раз в день обновляешь трекинги DHL . Так что пока буду работать с тем, что есть! . A few years ago I would have definitely given up when making these two Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong from casting to setting the stones, but I somehow managed to get them to work and I love them so much. Both are beautiful included sapphires from @calebbquashen, with small diamonds in the barnacles. Each ring has a hidden diamond under the front of the stone, like a small tide pool ‍♀️
