The fact is, when you’re building anything, you have to be willing to look like an “idiot” for awhile. - First off, trying your best and making something you believe in doesn’t make you an idiot. And anyone that tries to tell you otherwise is dealing with their own identity crisis. - Second, the rain takes time. PLEASE READ and understand this. So many people look at 5 years as a long time. Not in the bigger picture. If you take time to master things, embrace the process, do the work, give value, create value, master systems and more, you’re gonna be fine. - You all see @garyvee but were you watching him in 2008? - You all see @russ, but were you watching him in 2012? - God rest his soul, @nipseyhussle, was going for 12+ years? Did you see him back in 2007, 2008, 2009? - The fact that a kid running the cashier at a restaurant found out that this current run of media I’m doing has been 5 years and he said, wow, you’ve done a lot in a short time period (PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I DID HAVE A PREVIOUS 15 UEARS OF EXPERIENCE). - It made me think. Not that 5 years is a short time period, but that he viewed 5 years as short. It is short. But too many people view that as difficult and don’t want to put the time into something they believe in. Maybe they just don’t believe in it. - And you have to be strong for that long game. A lot of questions will fly your way on the end game. Simply smile, stick to your vision and go for 10, 20, or even 30. See, I will ALWAYS know how this turns out because I’m willing to constantly show up, do the work and adapt to change. The world does not need to know everything you’ve got going on. There’s a lot more said in this quote than some may realize. - First, telling people your business is energy. Who are you feeding that energy to? Are they going to take that energy and create new energy that doesn’t exactly align with what you’re trying to do or where you’re trying to go? - Second, self-awareness is probably the single most important characteristic you can have when building something, anything. The less you talk and the more you act, the clearer you’ll become, the more strategic, intentional moves you’ll make and your ability to see your opportunities will be more prevalent. - Talking too much is a form of energy that more often than not, disrupts. It disrupts via other people and sometimes by your own words. Hence, just execute. - And finally, talking to others about your journey is not necessarily their journey. You have to be careful what inputs they offer you cause that could sway your decision making, which can detour you from what’s really right for you. Don’t block yourself by talking too much. Again, just excecute.

For some of us, even the “positive” emotions and ways of being are frightening to embody. At one time, maybe it was dangerous to embody. We consciously or unconsciously put those aspects of us away in order to make ourselves small and ordinary. And for good reason. But look around you.
