Wanted to share with you my current #amroutine skeleton that focuses on calming my sensitive skin and combating redness and acne. I'll add products to combat specific concerns as my skin needs change from day to day, but below are my constants: #cleanser: I wipe my face with #bioderma #sensibo #micellarwater instead of using a #cleanser and water. Avoiding tap water and towel drying really helps me to minimize irritation and redness. #vitc: I've been loving #drunkelephant #cfirma for my face because it absorbs like a dream. I use #obagimedical 10% L-Ascorbic Acid on my neck because it doesn't absorb as quickly, but it's still a great vit c and I don't want it to go to waste. #acid: I pat (not rub) my face with a cotton pad soaked in #paulaschoice Skin Perfecting 2% #BHA Liquid. This treatment is a champ at evening out my skintone and keeping acne at bay. #essence: I apply #lamer #treatmentlotion with my palms and pat it in. This is another holy grail for reducing redness and combating acne. It is also my first layer of hydration and allows the rest of my products to sink in smoothly. #eyes: my favourite #eyecream is the La Mer #eyebalmintense. It depuffs, brightens, hydrates, and fills in fine lines like a dream. #moisturizer: I've been loving cool, light, hydrating goodness of the #boscia #cactuswater* in the summer months. Bonus points: it has quickly become another one of my holy grail products at counteracting redness. #spf: I love #Supergoop #Unseen #Sunscreen because it settles quickly, doesn't leave a white cast, and protects against not only #uv rays, but also blue light from electronics. On Wednesdays, we use pink . The White Rabbit cosmetic cotton sheets are newish to my routine, but they have made a huge and immediate difference in my skin's appearance, *noticeably* reducing redness. I pat (not rub) my face with these instead of a towel to dry my face after cleansing because a) towel fibres are surprisingly abrasive and b) I don't have the patience to keep washing fresh muslin cloths. Why not just use facial tissue instead, you ask? Because, unlike cosmetic cotton, facial tissue breaks apart when wet and leaves cotton residue on your face. Other uses for cosmetic cotton include: layering over wash-off masks to prevent evaporation and encourage absorption, soaking in essence for DIY sheet masks, and using them to wipe oil cleanser off. Another redness-reliever has been the Bioderma Sensibo Micellar Water, which I use in the mornings in lieu of traditional cleansing. Between the micellar water and the cosmetic cotton sheets, the elimination of abrasive rubbing and reduction in my exposure to water has been amazing for my sensitive skin. As for my evening routine, the Foreo Luna Fofo has been a staple. I've said before that the analysis function on this tool is trash (comment for a link to the full review), but the mechanical cleansing function is . The silicone bristles are much gentler than tools like the Clarisonic and are less likely to cause microtears in your skin. I love using it with my Odacité Black Mint Cleanser, which is perfectly formulated for use with a mechnical cleansing tool.
