A new make!! I’ve actually been having a very slow time lately with my personal sewing. I’m having machine troubles, not much free time and I’ve been sewing a lot for work. But at the end of last week I seemed to get a bit of my sew-jo back. I whipped together this skirt and it is instantly a fave. Made *surprisingly* from @lincraft fabric (any Aussie knows how desperately hard it is finding good fabric in Lincraft these days). This is a self drafted pattern that was super easy. The main panel of the skirt was the width of the fabric x2. The ruffle was x4 the width of the fabric. And the waistband was my measurement plus 30cm sewn to a piece of elastic I just cut to size on my body. Unintentionally, I’ve not bought any RTW this year except this “choose love” shirt from @asos, where all proceeds from its sale go towards the @helprefugeesuk foundation.

This was my present to myself for a weekend of essay writing. Wait until you see this fabric - I’m teaching the entire morning tomorrow and I’m pumped. - Next weekend I’m having off essays to finally SEW! Final dress update !! My handmade dress is done and ready for wedding day! For everyone who's been following along on my story, you've seen the process of making my own wedding dress. It's been a wild ride - I pieced together several different patterns, made a test dress to ensure fit, and then double lined the real one All in all, I'd say I've put about 60 hours into it. I took it to @bleubellebridal in Savannah to have it professionally hemmed because that is NOT my strong suit. They did a wonderful job! I picked it up yesterday and it fits like a dream ✨ (shoutout to all the bread I didn't eat last week). Despite my family's lack of confidence that I'd finish the dress (which wasn't misguided let's be real), I'm so happy to have it complete! I cannot wait to walk down the aisle in a dress I made and I'm so excited for our guests to see it ⚡️
