Felt cute. Might tell some truths today, idk. — I SO wish I took this photo this morning, but the truth is I took this a month ago when I felt less tired, less overwhelmed, & more attractive. I was going to come up with some funny/witty/untrue fuckin’ caption & let you all assume it was taken today, & then I decided NOPE! I’m going to be real with everybody here. — I’m a mom, girlfriend, friend, sister, daughter, etc. & I’m an entrepreneur; managing my dog training company, & planning/launching my brand-new canine care facility opening this summer, being built on vacant land - literally from the ground up, folks. It’s exciting... But shit, am I ever tired lol. — I could’ve posted an actual photo of me today - but trust me when I say ya’ll don’t need that in your life this morning I’ll get brave enough to post a “woke up like this” selfie soon, I hope. Getting comfortable in your own skin is a process, especially online for the world to see. Just know that this photo makes me feel pretty & that’s why I’m posting it. But also know that this is not my reality every day. — Reality is this: My hair has been in a bun for a week, sweats are my bestfriend lately, & the most I’ve done for cooking this month was last night when I boiled a pot of noodles, fried up some hamburger & threw some store-bought spaghetti sauce in the pan. (Thanks @joshua_aylward for taking care of meals lately, you the real MVP) — The point is though, I’m TIRED of being inauthentic. Out of everything going on in my life, being unreal with myself & my followers is probably the most exhausting. So, I’m cutting that shit out right now. Do I mean that I’ve been dishonest? No. Do I mean that I’ve not been a genuine person? Absolutely not. What I mean is that a lot of us fall into the trap of presenting ourselves differently online from what is really going on in our real lives - I’m so guilty. & I’m so over it. — INAUTHENTICITY, it is time - I’m throwing in the glitter confetti (not the towel, towels are boring).
