Фразочки типа «Мама, ты на нее так смотришь, как будто я тебе совсем чужой мальчик» сердце рвут на части даже у такого не склонного к сантиментам человека, как я. И это при том, что я изо всех сил пытаюсь каждую свободную минутку уделять ему. ⠀ С другой стороны, он любит подойти к Маргоше, погладить ее или сказать что-нибудь ласковое. Так что, у меня теплится надежда, что этот период мы переживем) как минимум до тех пор, пока она не начнет ломать его игрушки ⠀ И в связи с этим вопрос к тем, у кого двое и больше отпрысков: а как у вас проходил этот процесс? Старшие ревновали? А потом перестали? Заранее спасибо!

Started class again today after two weeks of much needed break! After today's lectures, I definitely need more food/snacks for class. For this week's meal plan, I'm making overnight oats, kimchi fried rice, and falafel bowls! Purchased this bunch of parsley for the falafel recipe and cilantro for banh mi's (nommmmzz). I ran out of containers to place the herbs in water, so I re-used the chickpea can and it's so cute! Haha. Today is day 183 of growing and foraging all of my food, which means I’ve made it half way! That is over 500 meals and over 1,000 snacks in a row, down to the grains of salt. This is meaningful milestone for me. Before I began this project, I had never done this for a single day, or even for a single meal. I moved to Florida with only having minor growing experience. I remember sitting in front of my computer, with anxiety on many days, doing the basic research of how to grow food. After 10 months of preparation, I felt comfortable to begin this year long immersion. I find this to be quite astounding and encouraging. It took me just 10 months, in an unfamiliar region, to go from growing and foraging 0 to 100. I have been seriously dedicated to this project, more than many others have the privilege or desire to apply, but I think this shows the massive potential that we have to take the power back from the globalized food system that is pillaging our earth, our fellow species and our fellow humans. I’m doing this with limited resources, without land of my own, in a city that is not highly regarded as a place for alternative living. At the same time, I’ve helped thousands of people to start growing their own food through the Free Seed Project, Community Fruit Trees and Gardens for the People with @LiveLikeAlly and I’ve taught many free classes to the people of my community. The potential we have as individuals and as communities to rise up against corruption and feed ourselves and our neighbors is unfathomable to many of us. But it can all start with a spark of inspiration, a handful of seeds and some neglected land. None of us can solve world hunger, but we can make sure our neighbors have a healthy meal. None of us can end food waste, but we can grow and eat our own food. None of us can save the world, but we can bring health and happiness to the world around us. I feel relieved to have made it to the halfway point. However, I also feel daunted. This week I felt a moment of a desire to celebrate, but then remembered the task that lies ahead of me. I wish we were neighbors and we could have a cup of coffee and talk about our lives. I’d love to hear your story: not just where you’re from and what you do but what you’re passionate about and what breaks your heart. I want to know your funniest and favorite memories and I want to know the hard parts of your story, too. I’d love to share those same things with you, too. If we were neighbors, I’d probably knock on your door wearing my husbands Mississippi State shirt that’s ten years old, carrying a baby in my arms, toddlers trailing behind me, hair unwashed and in a messy bun and ask if you wanted to come over for dinner. If we were neighbors, I’d hope you’d show up at our front door anytime, knowing you are always welcome just as you are. . . But...since we aren’t neighbors, I want to welcome you to come as you are here. I know it’s not the same as sitting over a cup of coffee face to face but I want you to know that you are welcome here. You don’t have to have it all together here cause Lord knows I don’t. You don’t have the perfect home or the perfect life. You can just be you. And I’ll be me. Okay? . My hope for all of this? I want this to be a space to share my home and Jesus and encourage women to share their stories. That’s it. It’s not about numbers, followers, making money, collaborations, or beating algorithms. It’s about us: talking, encouraging, listening, creating.
