✨Let’s chat about comparing yourself to others and looking at how far you’ve come. ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I want to open up a little...So last week I was constantly comparing myself and my makeup page to others and it really got me down as I felt like my page wasn’t as good as theirs or doubting that I’ll ever be able to do it like them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❌ I would create a look and spend hours criticising how it looks or nit-picking what I could of done better before sharing it...even after spending hours and hours creating a look. (As stupid as it sounds I wasn’t going to upload this because I HATED how the blending looked and was annoyed that I spent so long on something that I thought wasn’t good enough ) any tips on how to not be so critical of yourself would be great ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I often forget why I do it. I sometimes get caught up with what other people will think or if it’s good enough OR that I have to jump on the next big Instagram trend. When really the reason why I do it is because I LOVE makeup, I love creating it and I love inspiring others. It’s doing something I love and doing it well, gives me a buzz and I love hearing all your feedback! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I often forget how far my artistry has actually come and should be proud that I’ve kept it up this long...Of course that applies to you all and everything you do in life. Don’t compare your life or your journey to someone else’s. And to remember that hard work, dedication and practice will get you where you want to be, no matter how long it takes and to remember everyone’s journey is different. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨Set your own personal goals and be proud of how far you’ve come.
