So today’s #sotd is #steab #2 and it’s my first real fragrance that I’m happy with or even in some primordial sense, resembles something close to a finished fragrance. Having said that, this is version 2 and I’m on version 7 now which isn’t all that different, telling me that I was on to a decent concept in the first instance. This is an ongoing project though and will develop further I’ve no doubt. Currently it comprises a spicy, dry peppery, smoky, feeling. Fresh, green, bergamot in the top, a heart based around olibanum to contrast that dry feeling and a base of cedar and vetiver. This is a mixture of both natural and synthetic materials and everyone who’s smelled it really likes it, so there’s that. (Although would they tell me if it was shit?) My wearing experience today is very positive, this is something I would wear and pay for and I don’t know if this is a good thing, or means I’m not ‘there’ yet with it but I haven’t smelled anything similar from memory. I’m not needlessly promoting my own, cackhanded and at best, amateurish attempts at hobbyist perfumery with any agenda.
