Distorted reflections. Number 2 out of 3. ________________________________ From the All about water series #allwatervsj ________________________________ My “All about water” series is taking a new turn and this is a pilot for this new perspective. The series is basically about how climate change has ramifications also for the part of the world I live in, the Western part of Norway, and my city Bergen, on the west coast. The consequences we experience are that rain storms are becoming heavier and more frequent. They tend to cause flooding and landslides, destroyed roads and properties. Furthermore, they also seem to cause drier and warmer summers. My rain shots are conceptualizations of these changes and my aim is to make some of them into an exhibition to raise awareness of these issues. However, living by the sea has made me understand how valuable the seas are for the ecology as a whole and how humans pollute the sea and the world oceans especially with plastic. So the new turn in my water project is to include the sea in it, not only the rain. The sea is part of the water cycle on this globe so it’s natural to include it. This distorted image of a house, reflecting in water, is on a conceptual level a symbol of what this project is about and the burning issues at its core. Emma Stone . •••Hello Monsters I think it's time we had one of those serious talks here. I've noticed a lot of bookstagramers being discouraged about how their profile looks. So many people post stuff on stories like should they do a theme on their feed, should they do flatlays, this or that. I personally find that stupid, you should always do you. If you like something post it, if you don't like how it looks on your feed then delete it and post something else. Don't delete it if you haven't reached the likes you've expected, delete it only if You don't like it. Don't let the likes count control your love towards this community. I've also noticed a lot of the same profiles, same photos, same aesthetic or what not. There's so much you can do, you can be creative and you can be unique as a whole. Some of my photos are similar to someone else's but when you look at my feed you can see me. You can see I love color green, that I love flowers and my cat. That I'm a colorful and complicated person and I like it like that. Someone loves their feed clean and simple and someone lives for the mess like me. Remember this: Not everyone is going to like you. And why the hell should they? You don't like everyone, do you? It's important to be yourself. Don't go and copy other people's stuff or if you do, mention the person who gave you the inspiration. That person will be glad i guarantee you. I felt that on my own skin. At the end of the day books matter the most. That's why we're all here, because of the books. People will like you, fall in love with you because of them. I speak from my own experience and I've been here for over a year and all tho I still have doubts, my likes count drops and rises but you know what? I don't care. I've managed to find a circle of people who I think like me and I like them back. We talk everyday and I live for that and I love getting to know new people too. That's why I made bookstagram.
