A declaration.
.
Photography can be a form of declaration, of the life story of others, and of oneself. When I was a child, I believe like most of us, I was taught to read and write, but I was never offered a class or studies or contemplation of vision, sight, observation, perception, feeling.
.
We are living in a moment very different today where so many people worldwide are finding meaning, joy, and interest in making photographs. Some may find a downside to this, but overall, I see it as a beautiful evolution, and a particularly exciting one for someone who has spent their life caring about making a declaration of life with photographs.
.
Visual communication, like all forms of communication is a form of language, with its' own points of punctuation, grammar, pace, flow, and as in all, it is most often not the answers given, but the questions asked that linger, that mean the most.
.
At an early age of 16 I began to make photographs. I was rather shy and only knew how to express myself physically through sports. After seeing a book of Cartier-Bresson photographs, I realized I was walking by without noticing daily a world of magic and fascination, and I bought a camera and began to walk the streets of my hometown every night. Immediately my world opened up, and I found a voice, and found I could often offer others a voice, who frequently didn't have a very loud one.

I continue to photograph every day, and through this beautiful medium, I strive to make a declaration of existence. And that has made all the difference.
