This is the fruit of one of the MOST difficult times in our lives. This is Katriel’s labor of love, birthed from her own experience dealing with anxiety and depression. Too many people are suffering in silence or dying of suicide because we refuse to or are embarrassed to have this discussion. Forget the hows, the buts, the whats and the whys. My child’s life is worth far more than my own insecurities! So we sought help. And she lives. And she created this amazing book to help others live too. Swallow your pride, have the discussion and save our babies!

“The words we use to describe Afro hair do not relate to it’s texture and, judged by another’s metric, it will always come up lacking. But we do not possess a list of words that reflect the qualities of Afro hair, words that demonstrate it’s strengths, beauty and versatility”
.
Just started reading #DontTouchMyHair by @emmadabiri It has been written so well. Although our experiences around natural hair have been different from living in a more multicultural place like London, the emotion and feelings attached to the experiences surrounded our natural hair is very familiar. I have only started but I am looking forward to reading more and learning more

Hey Indie friends! I have lots of new followers, so I thought I’d introduce myself. I started Make Your Mark Publishing Solutions in 2013, after successfully self-publishing four novels. I’ve published a total of five and I’ve sold over 50k copies. An editing client asked me to self-publish his book and he became my first client. Since then, I’ve helped dozens of indie authors who have the passion but lack the time, knowledge, or resources to publish high quality books that will sell! I turn manuscripts into masterpieces by handling the entire self-publishing process from editing to print and everything in between. I live in Detroit with my 16-year-old daughter and I spend most of my days working, drinking coffee, and thinking of more ways to grow my business and help more indie authors. I am full-time self-employed and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love what I do.

Casting a wide net when marketing yourself as an author is often ineffective. To successfully grasp your audience, you must properly identify your target, and the more specific you are, the better. If you know who you’re talking to, you’ll attract the right readers. Often negative reviews are the result of the wrong people reading your book. And who likes negative reviews? Understand that you’re not going to appeal to everyone. Be okay with that. Identify your target audience and speak directly to them with your branding and marketing.
