Supreme S Logo Colorblocked Hoodie ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Retail: $168 / £158 / €178 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Resell: $200-240+ / £175-200 / €200-220 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think a lot of similarities can be drawn between Week 2 FW18 and this week. Week 1 always has good performers and items that go under the radar that week because of the size of the droplist. Week 2 comes around, there’s an overall desire to make up for the missed opportunity of sleeper items in Week 1 and take a big W. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The perception is that the S logo colorblock Hoodie is that item and I don’t think it is. The issue with Week 2 in general is that you have no collab, and it’s just a small lookbook droplist. Ok, so we have Timberlands and Vanson Leathers but that’s not really a full collab. As a result it’s a weak week () and the S logo hoodie is just the best of a bad group. There is an inflated view of S logo Hoodies in the community, they aren’t good performers. Almost every season you get an S logo hoodie and resell never really impresses. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Last season, there were 6 Natural hoodies and crewnecks. Everyone remembers the Trademark natural hoodie because it spiralled up to $500 but even when the jumper wasn’t very popular, the natural colourway always performed. The S logo natural hoodie last season was the worst performing natural colourway hoodie out of the 6. I can’t justify any of these hoodies bettering the natural because none of them are as universally popular. Black is the most popular and profitable colourway, followed by the red however the navy is not far behind. At the moment we know very little about Week 6 other than 7 Spring Tees are set to drop. Potentially the Vans collab could drop as well as other Andy Howell collab items (Molotov Kid Tee Graphic). There won’t be a full collab but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a strong week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think the perception of tees in a SS season still hasn’t got through to the whole community yet. FW18 had a lot of good tees and so many hyped tees barely got over $60 resell. High stock was blamed and because there were proportionally so many more sellers than buyers, it felt like there was really high tee stock. However now into April, the demand for tees will keep picking up and we can already see that with Week 1 Tees. None of them particularly great, KONY, Creeper and Kids tee after a quick dip from online orders week 1 have started to rise and some colourways push over $100. KONY was maybe expected to do that but the Creeper and particularly Kids Tee did not have a lot of support or confidence ahead of the drop. The spring tees this week have nothing that can be compared to the TV Tee from the 2018 lineup of spring tees but as a collective, it’s relatively strong because there is no obvious weak tee that will lag behind the rest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cupid Tee is simple but will do well. The figurine is only going to rise in value and status and the design looks clean on a tee. The other tee I think that stands out is the Molotov Kid Tee. Colourful graffiti graphic from a skate artist plays into a lot of Supreme’s clientele. Who the Fuck is Supreme is popular but graphics have far greater potential then a text tee so I can’t see it being at the top end of resell out of 7. I don’t really like any of these tees, I don’t want any for personal but then I didn’t want any Week 1 tees for personal either - it doesn’t matter. They’ve only got to be a 6-7/10 to go for $70ish straight away and rise into the summer months. Supreme JPG Sunglasses - Retail: $388 / £355 / €398 - Resell: $450-525 / £350-400 / €400-465 - This is definitely one of the hardest items to call this week. It was impossible to predict the retail with JPG sunglasses going for as much as $2000+, it’s come out a lot lower than expected but $400 is still a lot of money to spend on sunglasses. - I think it will do well but the higher the retail, the difference in currency conversion grows. Some pages will say $450-500 and then £450-500 but it just doesn’t work like that. $450 is £350 and that’s below retail. Does this make it a risky item to cop in the EU, potentially, $450 is at the lower end of my range so worst case you are selling for retail in the EU but even if it does really well, it’s not huge money in the EU. Supreme don’t produce sunglasses often and JPG are well known for their sunglasses, so those two things are big positives but the difference between $400 and $500 isn’t a lot however $400 gets you the sunglasses and $500 the fur coat. - The last Supreme sunglasses came out this time last year when they released 5 unseen lookbook sunglasses. Massively disliked, although most bricked the Astro glasses did really well especially in the blue and yellow colourways. The yellow retailed for $138 and had multiple sales over $300. I think the JPG sunglasses are decent, there’s definite profit in the US, less in the EU, I think if anything it’s overhyped. The item that is going to surprise people is obviously the Blockbuster hoodie but I’m not here to say it’s a brick, I want to feature it in the what to avoid post because I think a lot of people are falling into the trap of thinking this will be a successful natural colourway hoodie. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Natural colourway hoodies are not rare. They aren’t sleepers anymore and as such unless the graphic is popular, the fact it’s dropping in natural, won’t save the item. The Tag Logo hoodie from last week is the latest example from a growing list of natural colourway hoodies that just aren’t good enough. The Blockbuster font is not nice at all and is the classic sign of a personal hoodie and not a resell hoodie. It’s better than the Tag Logo hoodie, it’s not going to sit at $170, natural should reach $200 but that’s it. You can decide whether $200 selling on StockX makes you enough profit that it’s worth copping. It definitely won’t be worth copping in the EU, no size small and will brick after fees because of the exchange rate. In the US, natural small will make money, other sizes reach $200 at best so after fees not good. This hoodie is not going to perform as well as a lot of the community thinks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m always talking about tees performing in Spring Summer seasons but when you drop 8 tees at once, some are going to fall to the bottom of the pile and brick hard. You’re only going to see a real rise in the summer if there was demand to begin with. If these tees start out just over retail tomorrow, there’s nothing to suggest they will fly up to $85-95 in the summer because while people want tees in the summer they are just going to choose other ones, just like they will after the drop tomorrow. Even in black colourway, these tees will be hard to shift and could go below retail in other colourways.
