Saturday Snuggles
Today work has started on the garden - I can’t wait to spend the summer outside of the crittal doors playing with the girls, having picnics, BBQS and sipping rosé
The cardigan Chloe is wearing was knitted by my sister when Sophie was brand new

And we’re here! We had a very, very long day travelling yesterday. We didn’t get into bed until what would have been about 5am UK time! Both boys travelled so well but were super tired today (Henry slept for all of about 45 minutes on the flight!!) We decided to take the day a bit slower than we had planned so ended up getting the PATH train across from Hoboken, where we’re staying, and visited the Highline and Chelsea Market. The weather was beautiful, so it was nice to get out and walk around in the sunshine and enjoy some delicious lunch (we had Italian sandwiches and they were just ) We caught the ferry home, which the boys loved, and we’re all ready for our bed. Fingers crossed there won’t be a fire engine coming past the apartment at 3am with their sirens blaring to wake me up because I am wiped out!
I can’t believe she will be a week old tomorrow!!! Half of me has wanted my post c-section recovery to pass quickly and to get to grips with breastfeeding but the other half has wanted these special early days to last forever.
I’ve been using the (#gifted) @bbhugme breastfeeding pillow which has been really helpful especially with a sore tummy.

Back to the hospital today with this little lady. It was meant to be an appointment about why she is such a little thing for her age but after her episode and ambulance ride last week the focus is on trying to get to the bottom of that first. There were no answers today, not that we expected any, but lots of talk of tests to be done.
.
I left feeling we really had been listened to and our wait wouldn’t be long until a plan of next steps was put in place. I didn’t expect to receive a call just 5 hours later with what that plan is and what training I need to carry out some of the tests at home. I can’t fault how quickly Martha’s case has been seen and the care we have received, it really is remarkable and we are so fortunate to have our NHS.
.
As for Martha? Well she was an absolute gem today. Not a single complaint from her during any of the checks or tests and she gave the doctor a big wave and thank you as we left. Martha, Mummy and Daddy were all very grateful today (and Mum and Dad were very proud the constant reminders to say ‘thank you’ are paying off!) .

Oh man... what is it about them being poorly and suddenly they just look tiny again?!
•
It felt like I had my boy back today though... probably about time that one of the others get it now right, they are groggy as hell!? As I keep reminding myself... it’s better for them to get it now... it’s better for them to get it now

I am so thankful to breastfeeding to be able to offer him all the comfort & all the lurgy fighting liquid gold, but it’s exhausting!!! And breathe... send wine!
