Tarot peeps, look what I got for my birthday! I'm obsessed with this bag. It was kindly and skillfully created by @wheelofcrafts - it's goddamn handpainted! She made it out of nice, thick fabric adorned with custom symbols that I chose and some others that my dear friend added as she was painting it. What I find most intriguing about the Wheel of Fortune card in tarot is the symbolism of cycles. In life we must remember that when even in the darkest of times, the light is still on its way in due time. This deck has 40 mini cards, each with a different door, doorway, or gateway pictured at the front. The photographs are beautiful. There are keywords and little poems on the back, but I'm thinking I might try to read this one intuitively depending on how I resonate with the keywords and poems. ..... First card draw was this brown door at an address numbered 42, one of my favorite numbers because of Jackie Robinson. Tarot – When I started with tarot I used spreads that were made up by someone else. For example the Celtic cross. After a few years I started laying down cards my own way. By now I have some favorite card spreads I always use. It depends on the question how I put down the cards and how many cards I use. Sometimes I just keep on laying down cards until I feel it’s enough, following my intuition. Thus the amount of cards I use for a reading varies. In my future posts I will share some of the spreads that work well for me. What is your favorite way of laying the cards? I just finished stringing lights and tarot cards up in my tarot reading nook. Originally a closet, this is now the perfect spot for me to sit and do readings. This spot has been a work in progress. I reupholstered the chair with some fortune telling card fabric.
