В основе сюжета очень сложна семейная история, которая тянется около века, и судьба каждого человека в этой семье неразрывно связана с остальными ее членами. Мария Грипе показывает, что нельзя просто отмахнуться от того, что произошло с твоей прабабушкой или двоюродной тетей. Нельзя узнать и забыть. А узнав, тебе необходимо осмыслить и попытаться понять (особенно если хочется осудить) - тогда же станет гораздо понятнее, кто ты сам и что тебе делать (или не делать) со своей жизнью. Автор очень откровенно показывает внутренний мир приемного ребенка, буквально говорит ее устами. Готовьтесь к тому, что там очень много боли, сомнений, страхов и горечи. Показательными становятся отношения девочки буквально со всеми: с родной бабушкой (жуткий сноб), с братом (родная душа), с прабабушкой подруги (еще одна родная душа), с самой подругой (такие разные, но вместе). Через мысли и поведение Норы мы понимаем, как важно и ценно иметь свои, а не навязанные воспоминания о дорогом, уважать чужие личные границы и защищать свои, составлять собственное мнение о человеке и с некоторыми ситуациями также разбираться самостоятельно. Это, конечно, не должно стать гимном кризисной трехлетки «я сам!» - везде нужен баланс - но это хороший и понятный экскурс во внутренний мир человека с его глубинными потребностями. Поняла, что люблю скандинавские подростковые книги. Они не блещут яркими красками и драматическими ситуациями, но при этом подлинно передают то, что творится внутри подростка. Another from my #holidaybookhaul. I obviously couldn’t resist this title when I saw it! Michelle Roehm McCann wrote Girls Who Rocked the World a few years ago and returns with this new title. She writes inside that her biggest challenge was finding girls and women from ancient history, especially nonwhite women. The book features the stories of forty-five women and girls from well-known names such as Aretha Franklin and Emma Watson to lesser known ones like footballer Nadia Nadim, rock climber Ashima Shiraishi and chess grandmaster Hou Yifan. The book is extremely accessible and aimed at an older age range than the brilliant Rebel Girls books. It includes short pieces from young women of today who are doing their bit to change the world right now. Happy Birthday Judy Blume who was born on 12th February 1938. The author who introduced my 10 year old self to periods, wet dreams and RALPH.I remember during my first year of secondary school, my friend stole her big sister’s copy of ‘Forever’ and we read the good bits under the stairs at break. Without a doubt, Blume was my first sex education teacher. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I am listening to ‘Then Again Maybe I Won’t’ on audiobook. Maybe the key to my constant struggle to concentrate on audiobooks is to listen to kids books. I wonder what my 11 year old self would have thought of Tony? Listening to this at 37 reminds me how excruciating those days were. You couldn’t pay me to be a kid again. Desperately trying to fit in, work out who you were, trying and mainly failing at being cool.
