honestly, just call me a shatter me stan account at this point - when I went to get Defy Me last week I saw this at Barnes and Noble and got so happy!! the series looks so beautiful together, I’m so excited to see the cover for both Shatter Me 6 and the new novella bind up✨ - qotd: what’s a 2019 release that you’re looking foward to reading? aside from Defy Me, I cannot wait for Finale! It’s the conclusion to the Caraval series which I highly recommend reading if you haven’t already ❤️ some others are Children of Virtue and Vengeance, There’s Something About Sweetie, and King of Scars (I know, it’s been out for 3 months. I need to get to it soon!!)

Eigentlich habe ich mich vor diesem Post gedrückt, da ich keine Lust darauf habe, mir diese positive Erfahrung, die ich mit so vielen tollen Gefühlen verbinde, vermiesen oder gar ausreden zu lassen. Ich war nämlich im Kinofilm von After ... und fand es klasse!! ❤️ Natürlich ging alles viel schneller als im Buch, und genauso war der Film-Hardin definitiv nicht der Buch-Hardin, aber darüber kann ich absolut hinwegsehen. Wie Anna Todd schon gesagt hat: Mache Dinge, die in Büchern funktionieren, funktionieren eben nicht in Filmen, und das ist auch gar nicht schlimm! Ich fand den Film einfach grandios, und bin geflasht und begeistert aus dem Kino gekommen. Für mich hatte der Film so viel Gefühl und Romantik, dass ich jetzt noch Herzklopfen bekomme, wenn ich daran zurückdenke. Die Besetzung, die Musik, die Aufnahmen ... für mich hat alles gestimmt, weshalb ich jetzt auch am Überlegen bin, ob ich neben den zwei weiteren geplanten Kinobesuchen, NOCH MAL ins Kino gehen soll, weil ich solche Entzugserscheinungen habe. Ich weiß, das ist gestört. ‍♀️ Und noch mal ein kleiner Reminder an die Leute, die den Film nicht mochten: Klar werden eure Meinungen und eure Kritik gern gehört, aber BITTE, bleibt dabei freundlich! Stellt Leute, die den Film im Gegensatz zu euch mochten, nicht als blöd oder „keine wahren Buchfans“ dar. Redet den Film niemandem aus oder schlecht, jeder sollte sich seine Meinung selbst bilden können. Denn so wie euch es vielleicht verletzt oder enttäuscht hat, dass euch der Film nicht zugesagt hat, so verletzt es andere, wenn ihr den Film in gemeiner Art niedermacht. Also bitte konstruktive Kritik und kein Rumgehetze. Steckt negative Energie lieber in positive Produktivität! ❤️ Ich will jetzt nicht belehrend klingen; ich denke nur, dass gerade viele (mal wieder) das Gefühl haben, unter Druck gesetzt zu werden - ich zum Beispiel wollte erst gar nichts dazu posten, um Kommentaren entgehen zu können, die mich traurig machen könnten. Aber nur weil Meinungen sich spalten, sollte Bookstagram sich nicht spalten. Macht euch noch einen schönen Tag, und falls ihr noch nicht bei ‚After Passion‘ im Kino wart, holt das unbedingt nach! ❤️

Is there anything more complicated than being a teenager?! It's the 1950's in NYC and Ruth Robb's father has just died. It takes Ruth no time to adjust to the endless glasses of sweet tea and boundless southern charm, as she slowly starts to enjoy spending time with the pastel posse girls, engaging in endless conversations of debutantes, dances and designer dresses. What Ruth struggles to adjust to, is where that charm crosses a line - the racial references to anyone whose skin isn't white, whose hair isn't blond, and the references that the KKK is always just around the corner pushing for segregation, denouncing Jews and Blacks alike, is evident in every day encounters and conversations. The hardest struggle is that Ruth IS Jewish. And that just won't do in this town. At this time. So she hides it, and balances her new life of days with the debutantes dodging racial slurs and religious digs, and weekends at Temple, grasping at her heart and soul to stay true, and steadfast. But then something awful happens, and Ruth needs to decide if she is going to fit in, or stand out. And it's a joy to watch her decide. I loved Ruth - she is strong and witty and you root for her to find the courage to find herself in such a confusing and complicated era. In such a tumultuous time in the world, and her life - you hope she can choose wisely, between 2 very different conflicting lives that she's been living and struggling to balance. A wonderful story!
