Film: The Light Between Oceans (2016) Ini merupakan sebuah film Romantis yang diangkat dari sebuah Novel karya M. L. Stedman yang diterbitkan tahun 2012. Kisah berbeda dengan film romantis lainnya, karena konfli yang dialami dua sejoli ini mereka rasakan setelah menikah. Sinopsis: Benceritakan tentang Tom Sherbourne, seorang mantan tentara perang yang menjadi seorang penjaga mercusuar dan memiliki istri yang bernama Isabel Graysmark. Keduanya saling mencintai dan hidup hanya berdua di sebuah kastil mercusuar. Setelah dua kali mengalami keguguran, suatu hari, mereka dikejutkan dengan kedatangan sebuah kapal kecil yang membawa mayat satu laki-laki dan seorang bayi perempuan. Segera saja Tom mempersiapkan laporan akan temuan mereka. Namun sayangnya, Alicia melarang dan merajuk untuk membuat laporan palsu dengan mengakui sang bayi sebagai anak mereka, dengan alasan lahir prematur. Permasalahan mulai terjadi setelah Lucy mencapai usia 4-5 tahun. Tom yang sedari awal mengalami gejolak dengan menyembunyikan Lucy, mengirimkan surat ke ibu Lucy, Hannah Pots, yang merupakan anak dari pengusaha lokal yang kaya. Selain itu, Tom juga mengirimkan mainan kecil milik Lucy sebagai penghiburan bagi Hannah. Sayangnya, hal tersebut justru menjadi bumerang... Review: Alurnya sedikit rumit, kalian harus fokus disaat menontonnya. Duhhh, film ini sedih banget, bersyukur banget deh bagi kalian pasangan yang sudah dianugrahi anak. Film ini memberikan pesan moral yang sangat berharga, dan jika ditelusuri lebih dalam, ternyata rinciannya dari kisah ini sangat memilukan. Plot ceritnya berbeda dan menarik, meskipun beberapa alur terlihat lambat, namun secara keseluruhan film ini masih menjadi tontonan menarik saya, banyak pelajaran yang dapat kita ambil. Stedman. ▾▾▾ You know that feeling, when you finally get to a book you’ve been looking forward to for a long time, and then it’s not as amazing as you expected it to be? Well, that’s my current state with The Light Between Oceans in a nutshell. When I heard about it a while ago, I was immediately game. Historical fiction and a heart-wrenching story between what’s right and what’s wrong. Plus that gorgeous cover. Plus it was made into a movie. Plus Michael Fassbender. Plus drool. But the reality isn’t looking all that drool-worthy at the moment. It started off very good, I’ll give you that much, but I’m now almost halfway through it and I’m not nearly as invested as I want to be. The story itself is compelling, but the writing puts me off - it feels quite chopped and every time I feel like I’m starting to get a sense of the scene, it cuts into another. I don't want to dnf it, but I don't feel the usual urge to pick it up at every chance. What are you guys reading these days?
