Just over a month ago I decided to embark on a journey that has began nourish my mind, body & soul. At first I was skeptical and scared. I am “fat”, not strong anymore, not flexible, and I most certainty was convinced I couldn’t do core stuff due to my operation. I gave myself every excuse to be scared and enable my anxiety. After my first class at @yogagardenfl I cried. I cried because I felt so much relief and pain flowing away. Since then, every class I empower my mind, body & soul so much more. I come with intention-to my day & to my practice. I can feel my mind peeling away the anxiety and I can feel my strength building. Yoga has taught me not only about strengthening my body but learning how to let my body talk to me. I have never been able to listen to my body the way I do now; the way my muscles move, how quickly my heart beats, where my mind is wandering to. lately, I’ve really been thinking about the play of opposites ya know • like left and right, up and down, here and there, sky and earth, wake and sleep, stillness and movement • but really mostly spiritual world and material world • whaaaat does that even mean? • just like our breath, in and out, the dance of opposites, the dynamics of our life force, we are everyday pulled by this polarity • in this material world we become conditioned by our minds, our senses creating the reality within our outer world • but the inner stuff, the spiritual world is still happening, existing • the Self, the real you • it’s really patient, you see, always waiting for attention, love, care • all the opposites happening throughout the day are opportunities for your eyes to see • then connect • and create balance between the two worlds • both these worlds are here for us • how can you use what’s been given to us (material) to nourish what is ours (spiritual)? • how do you create balance in what appears to be amongst opposites? • photo @mouse.photography
