Society doesn’t accept that their bodies are just meant to be the size they are, and that regardless of how they eat, they might always be in a larger body. Instead, we blame them. We assume we know that they’re lazy or that they eat too much, based only on looking at their body, and knowing nothing about their actual habits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thin is not the default; we’re not all meant to be thin. Larger people do not have thin people trapped inside, waiting to get out. Bodies are meant to be diverse, and we are not all capable of achieving thin bodies, nor should we be expected to. We need to fight this narrative that thinner is always better, more attractive, and healthier; and that fat is bad, wrong, and unnatural. Bodies naturally come in all sizes, and this diversity should be celebrated, not pathologized.
