One of my favourite garment renovations, or single part of a renovation I should say, is this velvet lapel collar (kinda-thing) addition to this 90's thrifted dress! Maybe it's beacuase it's red, maybe beacause it's velvet.... I didn't really even need to change the actual dress very much, just some small, fancy red velvet, additions were all that were needed to give this (once daggy ) dress a new 1940s style life! Do you like the idea of refashions that you DON'T have to muck around with the contruction much? This is one of the most truthful Russian sayings - it means that whatever decisions you make at night, whatever feelings you feel - it’s all going to hit different in the morning, and it’s best to go to sleep and get some rest. I hated this saying as a kid, because I thought it was mostly used to put me to bed. But now, as an adult I see the true meaning of it, and I keep it in mind when I cry myself to sleep. Yesterday I felt bad about my accomplishments again. I wrote the saddest diary note, talking about toxic people and how they get what they want, how they beat instagram game by telling people exactly what they want to hear, and how I can never do that. Today I woke up feeling myself again, reminded that these people don’t concern me anymore because they’re out of my life. Reminded that I’m me, and as long as I stay myself - raw and flawed - I will find my audience. It might take longer but it will be worth it. If you meet me in real life, you might think my makeup is more crusty or messy than on my photos (if I have it on at all!), but I hope you’ll never think that my personality is different from what I present here. I don’t want to become a persona, I just want to stay a person. Anyway, I wanted to touch on what made me upset yesterday night, but in the positive light, and I hope this made sense.
