Experimenting with local natural dyes, I came across the mahonia plant, right now the berries are super abundant and the trees are everywhere! These are the results in linen and cotton, lovely soft purples and lilac colours. They might not be perfect, but I think that's what I love most about them! Can't wait to keep experimenting with this plant and maybe dry a few berries to have a bit of fun in winter time, when there is not as many exciting colours growing around. Esta planta produce frutos que parecen arándanos con los que teñi algunas muestras de algodón y lino, los colores son bellísimos! muy suaves y sutiles. I've been wanting to dye with indigo for a very long time and finally managed to find a recipe easy enough to follow and the courage to go for it, to be honest I found this dye a bit intimidating and I was also afraid that there would be blue stains everywhere In the end the only stains I had to get rid of where the ones on my hands and those were totally worth it, because the blues you get from pure indigo are so beautiful! Thanks to Anabel from @antesis textiles for sharing this organic indigo recipe on her blog and explain everything in a way that made perfect sense . Now I'm going to take full advantage of this vat and dye as much as I can, I might even give a second life to a couple of tops that are looking a bit sad. Yup! Now everything must be blue!
