How do we handle nap schedules on the go? That’s easy, we just drag our kids around until they literally pass out from exhaustion. It’s the nomadic family version of driving a kid around the neighborhood. Ours just ends in rice terraces in Bali instead of a McDonald’s parking lot. Dublin is my home city where I grew up! I love going there with the kids and seeing it through different eyes. I had a love hate relationship with home for years based on the fact, I couldn’t get into university and there were very few opportunities for me and many others my age. We are called generation X and part of those that mass emigrated .. It’s really sad I guess for my parents they are still at home. They had four children, all of us are nurses and we all jumped ship. I guess one huge plus is they have a home in so many countries they can visit! I feel so much more positive when I go now, way less resentful of the lack of opportunities and loving seeing it differently. Dublin has changed so much over the last few years and I am just in love with it. The cafe scene, amazing restaurants but also the many things for the kids. We got lucky and were able to get a walk on spot for an Upper Antelope Canyon tour. To say the least these two canyons are crazy cool and worth seeing if you are in the area. But similar to Horseshoe bend this is a very Instagram VS Reality type of place. The amount of people the tour companies cram into the canyons is a bit much (and this is not even busy season for them).⁣ ⁣.⁣ ⁣While the upper canyon is defiantly the more photogenic of the canyons it is two way traffic inside so it feels even more cramped. We really wanted to see both of these canyons so it was worth it for us and we are glad we got in. It is better to make reservations in advance to get a tour especially with large groups, but you can get up early and try to get in like we did. (Bring cash) ⁣ ⁣.⁣ ⁣Fun fact: Our tour guide told us that the lady who discovered the Canyon is now 94 years old and has lived her whole life near by. Travel goals achieved! I have been wanting to visit Petra for as long as I can remember. It came with highs and lows! The walk to get there was completely stunning and of course this rose coloured architectural wonder is pretty impressive. That said I did get into an argument with a local for accidentally taking a picture of his camel and not paying him to ride on it. Every cloud has a silver lining though hey? @gopro @goprouk
