TRUCKER @tohanimalshelter NEEDS A HOME! Tied to a light pole is how we first found Trucker. Thankfully, we found him and brought him to safety before anything happened to him. Trucker is 4 years old, as handsome as can be. Trucker is said to be house trained and crate trained, and loves to play with toys. Trucker is looking for a savvy owner who can teach him boundaries and give him structure. Trucker needs slow intros with other dogs. Trucker's walkers here at the shelter love him very much and say he is very smart and loves to play fetch! Foxy @tohanimalshelter is 9 years old, and came to us as an owner surrender due to the owner moving. Foxy has been waiting for a second chance since December 2017. Foxy is a sweet girl who doesn't deserve to spend another minute in a shelter! Foxy is interested in meeting other dogs, but seems a little under socialized. She is friendly with strangers, and displayed no issues with us near her food and chewies here at the shelter. As per her previous owner she is house trained and crate trained too. PLEASE... RESCUE ME Beautiful senior Sally is the LONGEST RESIDENT @tohanimalshelter has been let down once again by those who promised her forever. We are simply heartbroken for this girl. We are hoping and praying that one of you reading this can help make things better for her. Sally was originally found as a stray in November of 2015 by a good samaritan and was brought to the shelter. She spent 2 years waiting behind shelter walls after she had been tossed away not once, but twice by those she thought loved her. Then this past April, we shared the Happy Tails announcement that Sally had truly found that forever home. Sadly this was not the case and she has been let down a THIRD time, sitting alone once again, heartbroken and confused wondering what she did wrong to deserve this. Sally is a stunning 7-year-old Pitbull Terrier Mix who loves to be with people. As sad and lonely as she is sitting in her kennel, she still manages to put on a happy face while outside with her buddies. Sally knows her basic commands, is very smart, and very affectionate. This playful girl loves a good game of fetch with her shelter buddies and running around the yard. The ideal home for Sally is one where she will be your one and only, no dogs, no cats, no young kids. An adult home, 17 years and up, would be best. A home with a yard would be terrific for her so she has a place to play ball which is her favorite thing to do. We have been told she loves it so much she could play all day! Poor Sally has been in and out now 3 times, and it worries me! She has been through very traumatic circumstances with too much stress and change which is not good for any dog - all she wants is to be loved. Sally deserves better than this! ALONE AND HEARTBROKEN SHE WAITS ONCE AGAIN - FOR THE FOREVER SHE WAS PROMISED Lexi Mama @tohanimalshelter is a beautiful, tan and white, 6-7 year old beauty who has quite the history with the shelter and that’s always an unfortunate case. First brought in to the shelter in 2014, Lexi Mama was a stray who was soon reclaimed by her owner, only to reappear at the shelter in 2015. Unfortunately, this time her owner did not come back for her. We had happily announced that Lexi was adopted in September of 2018, she was just returned on July 10th because of changes in her owner's lifestyle. Lexi is settling in back at her shelter. Her volunteer buddies are getting her out each day and spending time with her. Lexi is house trained, knows all her basic commands, and loves to soak in the pools at her shelter. She is wary with new people, but once she gets to know you and trusts you she is your friend forever! The best home for Lexi would be with a savvy, experienced owner who would be committed to working with her to help her be comfortable around new people. Lexi would thrive in an adult only home as the only pet, but with her by your side you’ll need no other. Deciding to bring home a furry family member should be a life-affirming act. It takes a lot of work and love to have a dog in your life, but in return, Lexi Mama will be your unconditional best friend!
