Since they’ve recently launched in @boxpark they’ve been taking over my Insta feed, so it made sense to head down to @flatironsquare_ to see what the hype with @eduldn is over Their Spanglish menu (obvs an English-Spanish fusion) is pretty simple with 4 burgers to choose from, but standout and most adventurous was definitely the ‘Chick Frito 2.0’ It looks great and tastes even better. The fried chicken thigh is tender and succulent, and the bravas sauce with garlic aioli and mojo sauce makes it even juicer. It’s certainly not one for date night ‍♀️ If their other burgers are as tasty as this, I’ll be back for more . . . Made it to Dubai and went all out for our first meal here! Having been to @stk.london and knowing that their cocktails are good, we had to try @stkdubaijbr for their bottomless Soul Saturdays With this offer, you get bottomless drinks for 3 hours (inc. cocktails, wine, spirits etc.) and a set menu to go with. Don’t worry, the set menu includes sharing starters and desserts so you get to try a lot of food Standout starter was the crab sliders- they weren’t normal slider portion size so be careful not to fill up on the first course! The slider included soft shell crab, chipotle mayo, and pickled peppers, and perfectly crunchy and sweet . . . The sun is finally out so I headed for my first ice cream of the year (it’s kinda cold out so I got to eat this inside at @markethalls and look at the sunshine outside) @softservesociety have recently moved to Market Halls Victoria and bring with them their super instagrammable ice creams. There’s a large choice to fill up a cone/cup, or the piece de resistance, their sundaes As a chocolate-lover, this was the ‘Chocolate Affogato’ with vanilla ice cream, a shot of chocolate, Oreos, Rice Krispies and a brownie bite- not for the faint-hearted or those that are full up already By the end of the Summer, I’ll have made my way through the other 5 extravagant sundaes on their menu . . . You know that your bbq platter is good when you leave with the meat sweats If you’re a meat lover, then @hammer_tongs is defs the place to go, and I could smell the bbq as soon as I stepped in They are famous for their braai- essentially South African bbq platters, and they really are a feast. One of their smaller feasts for 2 was the ‘Baby Braai’ (FYI, it’s not baby at all- it’s huge)! This includes a 450g of dry-aged Dedham Val rib-eye, spicy chicken wings, spicy pork belly sosatie, skin on dry roast chips, braaibroodjie, and finally a couscous and feta salad It’s a lot, but totally worth it and like nothing I’d indulged in previously. Another weekend, another boozy brunch ‍♀️ Didn’t realise I’d be eating Spanish food at brunch or at @blueskitchen but all I craved was chorizo so it hit the spot The huevos rancheros has 2 fried corn tortillas with eggs, chorizo, reformed beans, cheese, tomatillo salsa, red chilli sauce and sour cream On top of that we were treated to 2 hours of prosecco which was the perfect hangover cure, and it was late enough that it seemed more acceptable to drink that much . . . Blues Kitchen, Brixton £28.50 4/5 ☝ It’s slightly cheaper of bottomless booze (£17 instead of £20) if you want mimosa or bloody Mary’s instead of prosecco

Peruvian-Japanese fusion food is actually a thing (Nikkei is the cuisine to be precise) I visited Mommi about 2 years ago and remember their set menu being delish, but despite walking past it most days, it’s somehow taken me this long to come back. Although they’ve got rid of their set menu, they recommend one slightly-smaller main and one starter. We obvs had to maximise the amount that tried so shared a range of starters/sides/nibbles along with a main each. All the food is gluten-free and incredibly flavoursome and you know this from the long list of ingredients associated with each dish. Oh, and there’s a LOT of garlic throughout their dishes so be mindful on date night The pan-fried king prawns with aji spices garlic yuzu butter, caramelised courgette and Peruvian giant corn; fried choclo, roasted pepper and smoked aubergine croquetas; and the spicy edamame were a handful of the dishes that really stood out and I can’t wait to come back and try their bottomless brunch . . . I’d read about @artofpizzaonstate and that it was rated for it’s deep-dish, authentic Chicago pizza but never thought I would venture far enough South for it given the cold When visiting the @fieldmuseum, it was conveniently located so it was too good an offer to pass by. This was the deep dish meaty pizza- something that I craved in my previous veggie Chicago pizza from @bacinospizza , and it was great for lunch as they serve it by the slice. The long list of meats included bacon, ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni and roast beef It was super thick and robust, with the dough in the bottom several cm in height, and the cheese, oregano and tomato was grilled so that it wasn’t too sloppy . . . Art of Pizza, Grant Park, Chicago $4.99 5/5 ☝ If you’re not a fan of deep-dish, they also serve thin crust

@lotseats has finally gone on tour- to a very, very cold Chicago ✈️ Priding itself as one of the foodie capitals of the US, choosing the restaurants I went to in the Windy City required lots of research ‍♀️ One of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants- @beatrixchicago was a cocktail/wine bar-come-restaurant that was thriving on a Saturday night. The main was a vegan mushroom farrotto of pearl barley risotto that tasted heavily of black truffle But the main star of the show and what I really came for was dessert. Renowned as one of @timeoutchicago best desserts, the Oh My Caramel Pie really was something else. With a shortbread cookie crust, the caramel pie was as smooth as a thick mousse. As if I couldn’t get enough of it but the portion was huge and just kept on coming . . .
