Do you remember the beautiful stories Scheherazade told her bitter king? It not only kept him occupied but also made him travel the most extraordinary places full of magic. We’re back in The Netherlands for Easter! Our camper trip through Germany, Austria, Italy and France is a wrap! ✨ First thing that comes up in our mind when we look back at this adventure? Well, traveling full time with our little girl is a big challenge when it comes to finding a nice rhythm. Especially in a camper! It felt like a pressure cooker! With trial and error, ups and downs and living on less than 10 square meters we are now ready for full-time traveling with our mini nomad (we think ) Although the broken nights, not knowing where we can get time to do some work and sports, we still don’t want anything else. Our personal core values FREE and INDEPENDENCY are so strong that we can get through this together Beside that, we wouldn’t want to miss all the memories we’ve made already with the three of us the past months. ⠀ Jetzt sitzen wir endlich auf der Insel und sind mehr als dankbar, dass wir angekommen sind. Unsere Reise war traditionell voll chaotisch. Reise pro Tipp, ganz exklusiv, nur bei uns: vor Fahrtantritt mal auf die Tickets gucken. Ich dachte mir so, der Nachtzug wird wohl irgendwann gegen Abend losfahren und stand dann schön blöd um 16.30 am Bahnhof - eine geschlagene Stunde zu spät. Mit mir ein etwas ungehaltenes Tigerkind, der entspannteste Ehemann der Welt (kennt mich halt) und unsere Reisefreunde, schwanger und mit Kleinkind, die gerade das erste mal mit uns Thailand erkunden wollten. Also buchten wir uns im nächstbesten Hotel ein, das den Namen ‚Absteige‘ durchaus verdienen würde, stopften uns mit 7/11 Fertigreis voll und stellten die Wecker auf mega extra früh. Kurz nach 5 Uhr morgens sollte das Reisevergnügen weiter gehen. 15 Stunden in der dritten Klasse, Sitzplatz. Im Schlafzug fahren kann schließlich jeder. Nach nur zweieinhalb Stunden Verspätung ging es dann auch endlich los und wir zuckelten viele Stunden durch das immer grüner werdende Thailand in einem Zug, der minütlich wärmer wurde. Trotz all der Anstrengungen war es auch ein Erlebnis einmal die Entfernung so richtig am eigenen Leib zu spüren. (Spoiler: Thailand ist lang!) Es war spannend, den Arbeitstag der unermüdlichen Essensverkäufer mit ihrem frischen Hähnchenreis, Chilimangos und Eimern voller Softdrinks zu begleiten. Nach spätestens 10 Stunden konnten die sich das Lachen nicht verkneifen, dass wir zwei Familien immernoch da saßen und stur das Hähnchen ablehnten.⠀ Als Geschichte wird diese Fahrt definitiv in die Top 10 unserer lustigsten Reisefails eingehen. Und gerade wegen all dem Chaos unvergesslich bleiben. Am Ende bleiben uns wundervolle Zugbilder und die Erkenntnis, dass jede noch so lange Fahrt irgendwann zuende geht.⠀ _____________________________________________⠀ to understand why I’m too tired to translate, please use the Insta translation.

I have been a little lazy with my Instagram over the last few months....Not sure if I just lost interest or too busy to post, maybe a bit of both.... After watching @travelmadmum story’s recently of our #familygapyear recap, it made me want to flick back through my phone and the thousand odd pics on it from that amazing year travelling full time with the kids. Guess what?! This last weekend my husband and I launched a new family travel website: TheTechnomadFamily.com . . When we first started a big family travel adventures I wrote about them (to an extent) here on TheQuuetGrove . . However, for over a year now I have wanted a place to delve into more of the travel aspect of our life in answer to requests of friends, family & followers wanting to hear more of our travels as well as our tips for how we do it. . . So last Fall I started a family travel specific IG account @thetechnomadfamily and then began talking to my husband about doing a family travel blog and YouTube channel TOGETHER. (Since he is already busy with his webcomics and I as am busy with my personal blog TheQuietGrove.com.) . .
