Here’s one for Flashback Friday. Our 1991 Bluebird Bus Off-Grid Camper Conversion. This Beast has over 2000 Amp Hours of stored power in deep cycle golf cart batteries maintained by 2000 watts from solar panels and 600 watts from the wind turbine. I mounted the wind turbine to an old German Military Telescopic CB Antenna Mast I picked up off of eBay . This allows me to easily raise and lower the turbine up to 25 feet off the roof of the bus. The turbine feeds a charge controller with a built in shunt system that acts as a brake when the wind speed gets too high. I also added 3 stability cables that triangulate the mast when fully extended to reduce the stress on the telescopic components. So far the system has been working flawlessly for over two years, but I still lower the mast when I am not their to monitor it. My eventual goal is to have the telescopic tower powered by an electric motor that would automatically lower the mast when the wind speed was in danger of damaging the system. #alwaysnofilter In pictures or in life or at work. Life is too small to have filters in everything we say & do. I recently read somewhere that an average human lies 15-20 times in a day. Whether it applies to everybody in general or not, the only thing that concerns me is ‘awareness & realisation’. As long as we are in a capacity to analyse and understand our lies and circumstances, it’s okay! Because the only person you ever need to convince is yourself. #integrity But if we bullshit ourselves to believe that our lies are true and build our lives around them, not only are we going to hurt & mislead ourselves but also everybody else around us. This weak foundation we tend to build our lives on is going to stall our growth, whether in life or in relationships. Because for all we know, everything comes down to ‘law of attraction’. What we believe & visualise, we attract & if we cannot build a trust, whether it be with oneself or others (in professional or in personal life), it will fail to make a difference. I am the first person in my family born in the United States. My parents immigrated from Hungary after the communist revolution. Landing here, making a life here in the land where freedom is a promise, they had me. I've always had this strange feeling of not belonging anywhere. Not here, I don't feel American. Not there, I am not Hungarian either. I'm fully aware that the "American Dream" is a marketing tactic. . The most me I have ever felt is traveling on buses in India rocking back and forth, navigating sheep and chickens, learning what not to eat on the side of the road, in the loud bells and temple sounds where flower petals were thrown at the feet of Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali. There, I somehow felt all the corners and parts of myself come together, as if some magical feat. There was also such aliveness in Mexico, on a tour exploring human rights abuses of American companies across the border in the "free trade zone." . My parents were never really huge on holidays, especially American ones. We kind of went through the motions and I'd learn more about the traditions in school and watch my friends do Thanskgiving proper or how excited everyone got for the Fourth of July, but I never really got it. Holidays based on war, on taking land away from people and somehow calling that a celebration of freedom was strange, even if celebration of freedom was appealing to me. My. parents didn't get it...coming from a war torn country and all. . In this in-between space, I often feel like I see cultures differently. That they are the waters we swim in like fish without even realizing it. Whatever culture it is, it becomes a part of our cellular structure and the air we breathe. . Living in a country where freedom is a value, but a value that is based on a foundation of war and trauma, slavery and abuse, oppression and separation...the freedom of victory OVER others...the freedom of the death father and death mother ruling through control and wounding - the freedom to be in power and to do whatever one wants however ruled they are by their conditioning and wounding. . FREEDOM, TRUE FREEDOM IS IN REALIZING YOU HAVE A CHOICE :: (sorry it’s long ) Never, never in my wildest dreams 26 months ago, weighing more than 400+ lbs, suffering from extreme anxiety, severe depression, ptsd, buried beneath the weight of my shame, disappointments, perceived failures, self doubt, and choices would I have believed you if you’d told me I could exercise my freedom, choose something entirely different and be where I find myself today. . Today I woke with thanksgiving on my lips. Today I wore a sleeveless sundress. Today I laughed. Today I danced in public. Today I ascended and descended 100s of steps in 90 degree weather without breaking a sweat or losing my breath. Today I stood for hours. Today I smiled and interacted with strangers, happily, because I wanted to and it felt joyful! Today I walked in the grass. Today I did my first straight (I think it’s pretty darn straight ) shoulder stance. Today I parked a block away from my destination. Today I held hands as I walked with a man I love, as we celebrated our existence on the planet together. Today we saw waterfalls, and butterfly’s and weird dragon/butterfly combo things we don’t actually know what they were... TODAY I CHOSE TO LIVE!!! that is the greatest FREEDOM of all . I’m ask a lot what was my “why”? . I haven’t had an answer until just recently. . The answer is simple. I wanted to live. Not just be alive and there is a DRASTIC DIFFERENCE. . I wanted to LIVE and be well while living. I wanted to be healthy and whole and joyful and thankful and strong in every way Mind + Body + Soul. . I wanted to radiate love & goodness & kindness & HOPE! . I wanted to be a blessing and to be blessed. . These things are my why! I am my why. You are my why. . I wanted something different. I CHOSE to create it. And now I share the same hope with you. . If you want something to be different, you’ve got to chose something different. It’s work. Every single day kind of work. But this level work for this level life IS SO WORTH IT. . What are you desperate to see changed? Are you living or just alive? Your greatest freedom is the power of choice. CHOOSE WISELY
