✨sensitive ✨ I’m hesitant to post this as I feel like the “ boy who cries wolf” but with pregnancies. However I am trying to approach this positively and with a hopeful mentality! I am 13dpo and this is the first test I’ve taken this cycle! This was taken around noon today so it’s not even FMU . There’s no denying the line. I cried instant tears of joy and anxiety over this, we want nothing more than for this to be our rainbow baby! We are cautiously optimistic and taking it one day at a time! GRIEF ISN'T JUST IN YOUR MIND // Losing a baby is the hardest experience a parent goes through. There are just no words. But an unspoken part of the grief, loss and mourning journey is when it's triggered when you're trying to conceive again. Last year I worked with a wonderful woman who was #TTCaftermiscarriage. She was referred by her #fertilitydoctor to help her through her #IVFcycle. She thought she was ok and didn't need support and I fully respected that. One day, I got an email from her. She was giving herself shots in her office bathroom and she burst into tears because the shots reminded her of her angel baby. "I thought I'd worked through it all!", she wrote to me. She had done at tremendous amount of work. But, no one had told her that the grief you release from talking, journaling and meditating is only half the story. Grief also hides in your body, building roots like a tree in the ground. Reminders such as baby shower invitations and dates on the calendar trigger this grief, but so do physical sensations. The heaviness of your ovaries from stims. The nausea from early pregnancy. Intercourse. They can all trigger grief that you never realized you were still holding on to. This is the difference between any other type of grief, and fertility and pregnancy-related grief. It's just so much more physical. That's why, instead of having a separate mind-body program for grief, I've combined it into my preparing for pregnancy & #highriskpregnancy programs. Because it always comes up. By releasing it from your body, not only do you uproot the grief, but you also release stress which can help you get pregnant and have a #healthypregnancy. Have you noticed body triggers for grief?
