Let’s have a “momo” discussion. It’s been weighting heavily on me. In fact, I woke up in the middle of the night last night almost in tears thinking of all of the things I won’t be able to protect my children from as they grow. . . My childhood was anything but easy. There were a lot of things I did as a child and teen because of lack of supervision. There were many things that happened to me it that I did that could have been prevented had someone been there to properly supervise and guide me through childhood and adolescence. Instead I learned many tough lessons at a very early age. I’m thankful that I stayed out of trouble, for the most part, but now that I have children of my own, I am afraid. I’m scared to raise girls. Afraid to raise them in this scary world. Scared of what type of parent I will be. Will I smother them out of fear that they’ll try to do something that will hurt them or someone else? Will I be too relaxed out of fear that they’ll resent me if I push them? Parenting is so tough. What kind of parent will you be as your children grow? . . I can sure as hell guarantee that they won’t be watching YouTube. We haven’t opened that can of worms yet. Gracie watches Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger on occasion. We save Disney movies for family time on the weekends sometimes and that’s it. TV isn’t used often here, and our days are better without it. If your kiddos watch it a ton, try a television fast for 30 days! It will change your life!
