The Uffizi Gallery Is one of the most astonishing collections of fine art in the world. It has a collection of some of the most recognizable fine art masterpieces in the world. We were as excited as kids at Christmas time to get the opportunity to go. When it was our day to go, we got up early and we were some of the 1st in the line. To be able to see these masterpieces in person is an opportunity that so few will ever be fortunate enough to experience. We realized this and we are eternally grateful for the opportunity. The scene is set in an austere room with a view on a gentle fluvial landscape like the Flemish paintings, where the Angel has just landed (as it shows the light transparent veil still in motion) and begins with Mary, distracted from reading a book on a bookstand, an intense exchange of looks and gestures. The angel holds a strong white lily, a typical offering to the Virgin that symbolizes her purity.
