The Corpach Wreck . The MV Dayspring was built in 1975. In 2000, it stopped activity and moored in the Fort William area. The boat was caught up in a storm in December 2011 and since then it sits on the shore near Corpach Sea Lock where the storm left it. Looking across to y Lliwedd from the crib y ddysgl ridge is one of my favourite views in snowdonia, it’s a place rich in geology, glaciation , myth and legend, there’s the legend of king Arthur’s knights who sealed themselves inside a hidden cave on y Lliwedd until called upon once more , the legend of the Afanc , a water beast that lurks in the depths of Llyn glaslyn , merlin was also said to have hidden the golden throne of the Britains from the Saxons on the cliffs of Crib y ddysgl, it all aids to capture the imagination and magic of such a wonderful place

In the final few hours of my North Wales Audi adventure, I decided to scramble Tryfan’s North Ridge. It’s the choice of routes that’s challenging on Tryfan, and as I stared up at those ahead of me whilst trying to pick my line, I was drawn to the path of one particular person, who moved slowly but appeared to be taking the best route... ⋆ I ended up in the company of Mark, a friendly and extremely knowledgeable gentleman. I’m still not entirely sure whether he genuinely meant it when he said it was nice to have company. To watch Mark climb you’d swear you were about to witness him fall off, his jerky movements and panting scared the fudge out of me, but he knew exactly where he was heading, and was picking all the routes I wanted to pick. So rather than doing the awkward hang back and follow, I started chatting to Mark... and it turns out he had so many interesting stories to tell. Over the north tower and up to the summit to finish off the weekend ⋆ I hope you’ve enjoyed the account of my 48 (52) hour Audi adventure... from discovering the Rhinogs, to driving on the beach, exploring a ‘mushroom garden’, speedy sunset descents, bioluminescent plankton hunting, morning swims, and rocky scrambling...
