Trying something new, a while back I drew a map for the area of Ulgu, the realm of shadow, where most of my AOS projects are set narratively, I find having a tactile location really helps my ideas and hobby flow. As the ideas and narratives have grown so has the map, but I thought rather than draw it, this time I figured I'd build it - a spare frame, some cork, milliput and a couple of mighty empire bits later and the basics were done, got a few details to make like the Shattered Tower, Butchers Keep and the Everblossom Grove. Ulgu is a land of duplicity and misdeed for in the shadows it is easier to hide your true intentions. The lands known as the Evermist Coasts is full of schemes and injustice. . -The Province of Barrenmoor, a handful of large towns scatter the moorlands, just like the land the people are harsh and hard done by. The gentry starve the poor for what little coin they can, controlling the small folk with petty taxes. . -On Barrenmoors southern border sits two forests, on the east side of the Moors the Everblossom Grove, a dazzling splash of colour in the direction realm and home to a close kindred of sylvaneath that have not been seen for generations. On the west side, the forest are the gardens of the dire Butchers Keep the regal home of a Flesher Eater Court, led by a King who is a host without peer. . -Further east over the deep seas, a mining cooperation has recently set it's claim on the rich veins below the mountains. . -Far to the north, the Shifting Crags, a warren of rocky pathways, caves and crevases. A treacherous place home to gargants and Ogors that enslave them as cattle, beasts of burden and tools of war. . -Standing on a peninsula surrounded by the mist isle is the fortress home of an elven legion led by Heir to the Mirror Throne, Prince of the Shattered Tower, A son of Shadows; Ōmagatoki. . . Thanks if you indulged me and read it all really appreciate it, lore is such a big part of my hobby as it is for a lot of us, and recently I've become a lot more aware of how I can focus my hobby energies around a narrative.
