Here is a great example and description of a sewing repair kit. I actually haven’t tried beeswax on thread to help it slide and hold more easily through thicker fabrics. I love beautiful snips, but they always seem to be hiding. So the Swiss army and the foldable scissors are my most common, and easy to transport incidentally. I love sashiko thread, but crochet cotton is very similar, and easy to find secondhand for about $1. I like and use both of these thimbles, and sometimes no thimble is better. Pins are a must, I use both safety & straight pins. I use a variety of needles in different lengths and thickness, but always sharp! And my beloved beeswax. I made this product, because when I’m mending denim, I want something to coat the thread, making it easier to work through several layers, AND I want it to be natural. When I started teaching workshops, my students also loved the beeswax. It’s available in my shop if you need your own magic mending wax.” Original post by @wrenbirdmends
